Hello all,

I just need your valuble advice regarding Saudi Arabian police clearance. My spouse born and bought up there (esp stayed 3 more years after 18th b'day, right now with me for last 1.5 years in Canada ) .Now in IA they requested saudi police clearence and for a Saudi non-resident to get Police clearance from there, that is near to impossible. If any one of you'd went through our situation, could you advice us what you did to overcome it?
(It is written in CIC website, if you are fromm"Saudi Arabia" you dont need a PC,i dont know what the H they asked us- In some forums I saw persons requested CIC to waive it as it is almost impossible,do u suggest it? )

Thnx in adv.

Hey prof,

I wrote a letter to CEC, describing the situation. I attached photo copy of my spouse's work visa/DL/HC etc and some other info which tells that my spouse is no more a Saudi resident (Saudi will not give PCC to a non Saudi resident). With that mail I kept RPRF $$$ as well and I came to know from my bank that they cashed the Demand Draft. My guess is this - If they are not willing to accept my request, they could've send a mail back by now (it’s been half month) or else they will not cash RPRF amount. In my mail I quoted some lines for CIC website (about Saudi Arabian PCC) and it worked (We both fall under NOC Level A and I am the primary applicant) I will let you know If I receive any mail later date from CEC regarding that. Thnx

Do you mean that the passport request is valid untill october to submit it ? and if you don't mind, what do you mean by 2 hours drive from where you stay ! isn't your application being processed at Buffalo visa office ! are you going to cross the USA border to deliver your passport in person ?

Thanks in advanced and have a good time you too

Yup.. U can either
1) Go in person, take other family members passport with you
2) Send a representative with your written authorization

Since I am having US visa and am living near to US, itz easy for me to drive there and get it done...(U can either go to Buffalo/Detroit/Sarnia and list continues...)

I hope that it will work with me for the saudi police clearance am applying under the FSW category three(international student in canada) and i really have a big headache from the saudi police clearance. i have all of my documents ready with me to be sent to buffalo after getting the letter from the CIO except of that document (saudi police clearance), i know that in the CIC website they state that saudi police clearance are available only for current legal residents of that country, and i have sent an email to the canadian embassy in riyadh and they replied that former residents cannot obtain the saudi police clearance, and i called them in person from canada and they have told me the same thing. i have sent an email to buffalo visa office too before sending my application to explain and they have replied that they don't give consultancy for people without file being processed at their office yet. that is very confusing i might get my letter from sydney nova scotia next week and it will give me only 4 months to send copy of my application with all of the required documents included the saudi police clearance within that period of time. at the same time the saudi embassy in ottawa does not want to proceed to the issuance of the saudi police clearance untill i bring them a letter prove that i have an application under processing, moreover, they say that it takes up to 6 months to get it from the embassy. that is very frustrating. you are really lucky because your immigration officer was not insistent that you have contact the embassy of saudi arabia to get that certificate.

i have heard some cases where the visa officers at buffalo office where insistent that applicants must provide a saudi police clearance even if they are no longer residents of that country.

good luck

Well, Good luck to u professional, I applied under FSW on 2005 from my home land and application process is not yet started(Gosh!) . I think its all depend upon the person who review ur docs, Would you mind me to tell whatz ur current situation? Why u are not eligible for CEC?/ How long u've wait to be eligible to apply under CEC?

to Canimmigrant:

I have been living in canada as an international student for one year and two months, but am not eligible yet under the canadian experience class category because i was studying english language for almost one year and my college program will start this september for two years so to be eligible under the CEC i will have to finish my college program for the two years and work for one year under the post graduation work permit to apply as a graduate student (it means more three years from now).

That is why i applied under the FSW because i already have the bachelor of accounting and the master of management degress from my country and have 6 years experience in accounting and i have relatives in canada. and under the new rules for the FSW class iam eligible under category 3(international student in canada for over one year) and category 1( have 6 years experience in one of the 38 occupationS announced by the minister (accounting) NOC Code (1111) according to the National Occupation cCassification in Canada. and it takes under the new rules from 6 to 12 months for FSW applications to be processed.

In regard to your case (the FSW application) it hasn't started yet because your application belongs to the old rules (2005) which takes sometimes up to 6 years just to start processing the application. the new rules apply for applications sent after February /27/2008.

Thanks and hope the best of luck for you

to Canimmigrant:

No i haven't taken the ILETS test before coming to canada, actually i wanted to improve my english langauge at first and unfortunatly i regreted about that because i had found out after coming here that international student who study english as a second language don't have any rights such as their counterparts who study programs at a university or a college...etc.

I mean in regard to the student work permit which can be granted after 6 months of study for those who have done so far at least 6 months at a university or college (after paying more than 16000$ between tuition fees and living expenses with full time attendance at the school for almost one year and finishing the program successfully and getting unconditional acceptance form a college, immigration canada still see that we are not a bona fide students yet te be granted a student work permit !!!!!!!!!!).

Anyway good luck for you and try to deliver your passport as soon as possible to get your visa stamped because immigration officers are unpredictable, if i was you i would go immediatly to buffalo to get my visa stamped to get rid of that horrible situation which is called:

($$$$$$$$ international students in canada $$$$$$$$).

Buddy, before 3 years I was also a "Int'l student". Trust me, I can feel ur pulse when you talks about it. Yeah, u could have took IELTS from there, but dont regret, things will change. When I first came in here, I thought world is going to end(lol)...but later realised its all part of life. Eventhough it might be dark around you now(for me,it was), but soon, very soon u will see the bright light at the end of this small tunnel... Whilst I was studying, there was no student work permit stuff, but I managed to find a job in college itself which does not requires a student work permit stuff and trust me, it really helped me to find my livelyhood from that(every pennies count )... As I mentioned before, always be optimistic and wishing you all the very best :) Keep posted :)
