No I haven't received the AOR yet...

This is my second time apply for CEC...the first time (exactly a year ago)i got rejected because of my NOC did not match their requirement...

I waited a year and apply it with a new NOC title....I hope it will work out this time....

It's really weird that december applicants have not received AOR yet.
It seems like Buffalo stop sending AOR since November.

When I applied in December 2008, I received my AOR in mid January 2009...I thought this time I may receive AOR in January again..but now it is end of January and no answer yet...The process time definitely slows down compare to same time last year...

My PGWP expires in Oct 2010....I really hope nothing more will be delay

The NOC code i wrote on my first application is 1431 (accounting and related clerk)....NOC type C job (I did not realized it is not in the A or B type job until I found out that only NOC A, B or 0 can apply for CEC....when I got the rejection letter)...i made a hugh mistake there...

I am working as a bookkeeper since then and waited a year to reapply again. this time I applied with NOC code 1231-B(bookkeeper)

I am not very much clear about the processing steps.

If your draft has been encashed ... means your application and documents are in order or ok ???

is it possible if you can or someone else let me know about these steps... DRAFT CASHED....AOR...IA... etc etc (or send me any link where I can get more information)

Thanks

I'm a Dec 2009 applicant as well. My application was received on Dec 30th and now I can access ECAS using my Client ID and it says that they started processing on Feb 11, 2010. Haven't officially received my AOR though. It looks like I'll probably get it in the snail mail sometime soon. I get the feeling that if your ECAS shows that your application is already in process before you actually get an e-mail from them, then they are probably gonna send the AOR by snail mail. Also I might get transferred to Seattle or LA since I'm from Alberta.

Hello Dec 09 applicants,

Just to let you know, I received my AOR this morning in the postal mail. Never got any email from Buffalo, so if you have not received your AOR, don't forget to check your mail box.
Cheers.

Hi, I am also a December 2009 applicant, applying from BC. My application was arrived in Buffalo on Dec 7, but it took for a long time to get the AOR, compared to other Dec 2009 applications. I finally found the AOL letter in my mailbox today! The date on the receipt was Dec 14th and that of starting process was Feb 05. I have no problem with e-Cas so far, by the way. My concern is that my current visa expires at the end of this March... See what happens next. Hope for the best for all here!

Hi Mifinvic

try to get an extension on your work permit, so u can remain in canada. I assume is faster and easier the app process in Canada than overseas.

Got my AOR in the mail today. It was dated for Feb 11th. Everything looks good on ECAS so far.

I think from now on, all the AOR's will be sent by snail mail as they've got these 8 or 9 bar code stickers on them with your file # which you need to include every time you correspond with the Visa office.

my manager didnt get any call from CIC. They are calling to somone only selected by randomly.

Hi fuchomx, thanks for your advice. I am planning to request for an extention for my visa as a visitor soon. I tried to renew my work permit for the company I am currently working for. But my company's request to keep hiring me was turned down by Service Canada because my salary was too low according to them, unfortunately. I was very disapponted as it didn't sound reasonable at all. It seems the government does not want foreigners to get jobs right now as many Canadians are out of jobs... But as you wrote, perhaps it would be easier to get my app processed in Canada.

I have received e-mail from buffalo today that my file has been transfer to Los Angeles to expedite the processing of my application.

Has anyone receive a similar e-mail too?!

I think thats a good thing for you. LA office is usually quick and you will get your IA in about month and two weeks (around April 12). Good thing they didn't not transfer it to detroit or NY. Those offices are extremely slow.

I am in Calgary maybe because they transfer my file to LA. I just hope they don't delay my process since there are many applications in place for them.

to garyfaifai:

No they will not delay your application if everything in intact/ok. Look at other members whose files have been transfered to LA, they recieved their IA in about 1 month and 2 weeks after they transfered their application.

I don't think LA office has many CEC applications, they only get them from buffalo. Mid April or may be earlier than that, you will get your IA. LA office is quick.

I really hope that they will be faster and process my case, as per their e-mail saying "expedite" my case. My PGWP will expire in October this year and anymore delay will definitely affect my stay here in Canada.

Checked e-cas today and cic added the following comment to my case

"We transferred your application to the Los Angeles office on March 3, 2010. The Los Angeles office may contact you"

Don't know if they will require interview on my case

My file got transferred to LA as well on Mar 10th. I've booked a medical appointment already with my nearest DMP for Apr 12th. The receptionist there was asking for an IMM 1017 form (section A) which she said could be downloaded from the internet. Anyone know its whereabouts?

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/ht...
can you have a look at noc description and let me know if my NOC will match their requirments?
And what ielts score is required for my job class ??????

Thanks

to mikebrown197:

Hi mikebrown197,

As long your job description matches the description of the NOC code that you put in and it is a skill B type job, your job title is qualified. Since you said you are a chief, the best NOC code that fits your job title is 6241 - B (Chief).

Here is the link you can check: http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/search_occupat...

According to the CEC requirement, the minimum average score for IELTS is 5 if you are qualified for NOC skill B type job.

Here is the link for you to check: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guide...

As I mentioned before the reason why I got rejected the first time was because my NOC code is skill C type. So I think you have a good chance to apply under CEC with your job and have at least 1 year(post graduated stream)/2 years (Temp worker stream) experiences. Hope this can help you.

But i could not find job description at hrsdc web site can you help me find job description for 6242 at hrsdc website and send me link.
one moree question
is there any certain level of education required to apply under this cec category???

thanks again

to mikebrown197:

ok here is the link for noc 6241 description

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Qu...

If you go with the temporary work stream to apply CEC, you need two years experience and no education requirement needed.

I found a link about CEC processing steps and examples.

Before I applied I have immigration consultant look at my files to make sure everything is ok.
I would suggest you to do so too since you don't want to have any mistakes before you send out yours.
