to minnata:

hey minnata, the new rule consists of sending the application to sydney office in canada. They check your application to make sure you are eligible for the FSW catogory. If you are eligible ,they send you a letter with an AOR number informing you to send your full application including your supporting documents to Buffalo office within 120 days. Once you send the package, the buffalo office sends you a new AOR number in the receipt saying they have received your application which contains the next steps that are going to be performed like interviews, medicals etc. These new rules went in effect around december 2008. I applied on April 1st 2009 and i went through all the steps that i have mentioned here. I hope this clarifies your question. Good luck.

Hi All,

I got the AOR from Buffalo on 15th June. I applied under new rules. Still my ecase says that "Application received by Visa office. I am not sure how much time are they going to take to release Medicals. I have been in USA on H1B, now in 2 months, I will have to go back to India permanently. I don't think I can get medicals in 2 months. Could any one of you tell me what am I supposed to do regarding the medicals and all if I am in India. I have already given my relatives address in USA, futher they're gonna be receiving all my docs and would inform me the same. Is it mandatory to get medicals done in USA or I could get it done in India? I am bit confused. Please let me know how long should I wait to get the medicals from now and also the consequences if I go back to India.

Thanks alot..Suvv

Hi, it seems like you all are experienced about Canada.
I am new about Canada and planning to apply soon.
I really appreciate if you could reply my questions?

1. I am not sure if I should use a lawyer- do you think it is better to have one?

2. How to get police report from US? Is it from Local police office or from FBI?

3. Do we need all the police states for all the US states I lived if more than 6 months?

Thanks,
Roman

Hello guys,

From what I see at trackitt is that currently Buffalo is looking at March and April 2009 files. So we will have to wait for our turn. It seems that it will take approximately 10-11 months from the day we sent our supporting documents to Buffalo CHC, for them to complete the initial eligibility review.

Long wait...

thanks madhavendra22. By any chance can you tell me if there is anything on your online status that shows something like " We sent you a letter requesting additional docs". I am asking because I might have issues with the local postal service. They have been messing up a lot of my mails in the past. Thanks again.

This stage normally takes from Minimum 36 - Maximum 52 weeks depends upon the the country of nationality. Normally If you are from Pakistan or Middle East, it would take a little longer because of the Investigation issues. ( Approximately 3-6 months more than normal time frame)
