Hi,

I also sent my passport to New York on the 25th of May and they received it by the 29th. It has been more than a month and I am still waiting for my passports (I am already in Canada). NY Consulate's website used to say that they return passports in 15 business days, now it says they return passports in 30 business days (updated june 29). I guess that has something to do with the delay. Looking at other cases, I hope to received my passports back next week hopefully. Keep us updated.

Regards.

Hi,

I think it all depends on your Visa Office. In my case, my office is New York and I am already in Canada, so I couldn't send any return envelope. They clearly specify they won't use any private courier. If you are in the US, they suggest you what you should buy. Just follow the instructions.

Regards.

Hi imincanada,

Nothing yet... and I know what you mean... Even though now NY states that they are returning Passports in 30 business days, my original letter said 15 business days (3 weeks), but it has been what? almost 1 month, 1 week and nothing yet! The waiting time for NY is just ridiculous! If it wasn't for the fact that you had to travel to NY and return one week after to get your visa I would have contemplated traveling there. Waiting for the "regular" mail to arrive is killing me... At least I know watching trackitt we are not the only ones in this neverending waiting period...

Regards.

Its so stupid dat i can't even send them a Fedex envelop........Please suggest if anybody had sent them any prepaid envelop and received their passports......thanks

Hi imincanada,

I only got the Congratulations letter, a huge manual for the "Newcomers to Canada" and the two CPR for me and my wife. I see in the CPR there is a number corresponding to medical surveillance and we got a 1... maybe meaning NO... I am not sure... but we didn't get any Medical Surveillance paper. Maybe something came up in your medicals that wasn't serious. Don't worry!

Regards.

As far as I know, 1 under Medical surveillance code means you were assessed M01, meaning perfect condition.

I have a querry. If you live in one country and your visa office is in another country then how do you send passports for stamping. Is it legal to use courior for sending passports fro one contry to another? Like people living in Canada have theit applications processesd in US, or you living in UK, having it processed in Ghana.

to Kool1:

Hi Kool1,
badhai cha PR paunubhayeko ma. ma pani nepali nai ho. Mine case is similar as yours. I just received PPR and sent my passport today to NY consulate. In your case, you mentioned that Passport Requested: 02 Jun 2009, approved Approval/Denial Date: 22 Jun 2009
Passport Received Date: 24 Jul 2009. I'm wondering, if they request the passport, doesn't it mean the case is approved, and they want pp for stamping? Since they asked me PP, I was in impression that the case has been approved.
Also, do they normally take that long (6 weeks) to return the passport?

thank you for your help.
