my frank opinion is please check out the new immigration rules and then decide there are only 36 occupations that are in demand in Canada. I applied for my PR way back in 2003 and got my file no. in Jan 2004 submitted my updates in Aug 2008 but till date no medicals have come my agent asks me to wait till July end 09. I am a senior manager with a Public Sector Insurance company and qualified with 76 points at that time now the points have scaled down to 67. My elder son has gone to Kingston Canada for his 1 year FT MBA he is a dependent but now he is trying himself for his PR. I suggest U hang on do a proper research and then plan do not make haste cause haste makes waste. Do not give up your job at any cost. Recession has hit Canada and that could be the reason for my delay. I am also a visiting faculty lecturer in several college and an IELTS trainer. I completed my M.com B.Ed, LLB, FIII amd M.Phil and also IELTS with a band score of aggregare 7.5. My papers are stll choked in the pipeline God knows when it will be cleared. All the best

I had my PR interview which I postponed once and ultimately didn't appear at all. I have come to know that Canada is only for unskilled labourers and white collar jobs are rare. I've heard directly from people about their bad experiences in Canada. After working in white collar jobs in INdia, it's extremely tough to settle there. People have returned to India after few years of blue-collar labourer struggle in Canada.
Go to canadiandesi.com and read their experience.
BTW, I am a software engineer and graduated from US and worked here and in India and right now in US.
Follow the career NOT country.
