Hi,
I would like to know the Immigration agent/ consultant through which you have applied your file in Mumbai.
Please Provide me with full address, tel no and also in how many months was your visa stamped ..
If you don't mind how much Cost does the Canadian govt takes and How much cash does the Immigration agent takes?
Awaiting your favorable reply
|
got my card today :)....good luck to all who are waiting...it should be coming soon :)

to golguppa:
Can you please tell me, approximate how many days it took for you to complete the formalities and apply for the PR card. I mean, is 10 days sufficient to apply. I have to land in Canada and after applying for PR carrd return to India. So i have to book my return ticket.
|
You dont have to apply for PR card. Once you land, it is automatically applied by the immigration officer at the airport. You should stay in Canada till you get your PR card in mail. It takes about 30 days for the PR card to arrive.

to golguppa:
Hi Guys- I have 2 questions and would appreciate your thoughts based on your information or experience.
I heard from someone that if you have both US Green card and PR for Canada, while crossing borders sometime immigration officers ask you to surrender one. Is that True or Not?
Once you get the Canadian PR, is it similar to US Green Card? Means that you have to make an entry to US after every 6 months in order to keep it valid?
Thanks
Sam
|
And Canadian PR is similar to GC but it is a lot easier to keep it valid than a GC.
|
to golguppa:
Thanks guys. Its kinda relief.
|
to golguppa:
Thanks for the reply.
|
to golguppa:
But please let me know, is it necessary that we have to stay in Canada till the arrival of PR card. I heard that an address in Canada is sufficient and the addressee can send it to you in India.
|
It is not allowed to send PR card out of country by mail. You can do it but if immigration finds out then it will a problem. Secondly, it is highly recommended to stay in Canada till the PR card arrives because a lot of times they can just call you for some more information, maybe another picture or anything at all and if you are not in Canada then it will be a problem as you will not be able to come back without a travel document.

Hi Gol Guppa and any other person who can help me.
I had a question from some one who has received PR card.
Can any one tell me - does the CIC send card for child (6 years old) in the same envelope as the parent or separately.
|
to greer:
Greer:
You will receive the Permanent Resident Cards in separate envelopes. You will get one envelope for each of your family members. It takes from four to six weeks to get them.

Rose

Actually there is a slight bit of problem with a friend. He landed but gave his relative's address. That relative let out that place.
So the tenant recieved the mail from CIC. He says he got two enveloped from CIC - one for his ownself and one in his wife's name. Now the problem is he can not open the letter, neither does he want that guy to open the letter.
If the CIC has not sent the PR card for the child, then what is the option.
Any one else - can please give some advise.
|
your friend should ask your relative to go and get your mail and check it out or anyone who he thinks can open the mail...then the mystery will be solved :). Normally...all PR cards are sent in separate envelopes.

:))
Thanks... It is actually a gr8 mystery.
What if CIC did send all the PR but the tenant guy or some one else tries to pull a fast one - like keep the PR and misuse it - more like a fraud, etc.
How safe is the PR card - that it can not be used by some one else..... Becoz I think the first thing any one would do is to complain to CIC that they did not get the cards - that itself would be a red signal.
|
I think the PR card is pretty safe...dont know what the guy will do with a PR card because immigration frauds are now taken pretty seriously....your friend can always call the immigration number 1 888 242‑2100 (only dialable from within Canada, maybe they can tell some relative their information and have them call) and tell them that they received their cards and not their child's...the agent can tell them exactly when the child's card was mailed or if it is still not mailed.

to golguppa:
Thanks. I got to know what it was.
These guys had some problem with the photographs - so they asked for new photos.
Do you know what is better - there are two options.
Send a set by post or go yourself to give the photos. Then the photos would be sent back to CPC NS.
I don't know why they give this option. the CPC NS might as well ask for photos directly.
What is your suggestion.
|
I have seen most people go and give the photos...if that is not possible and if they have given the option of mailing them...then why not...they can mail it. I dont know why photos are not sent directly...must be how they do their process.

to golguppa:
I recieved the Red letter that the photo I provided at the time of landing did not meet the specification and was asked to appear in PERSON to the St Clair office in Toronto and provide a new picture. I was not given an option of mailing the pictures. I guess this is done for verification or Secondary identification purposes. The pictures of my Wife and Son was good but mine was not accepted. I guess it is just their procedure.

to Immigeek:
I don't know what verification can be done or even actually required. Suppose if you appear - then what will happen. What additional information can be verified - it is not some kind of post - immigration interview.
I think it may be that in all this process, the photo may have really got damaged.
Let us know - what you did when you appeared in person or if they actually managed to deport you from their office :))

Hi All- First of all congrats to you all who have received their PR card. I been reading that it usually takes 4 weeks to get your PR card in mail and Immigration folks doesn't mail PR Card to foreign address(US Address). My questions are
1. During landing in Alberta, if I provide them with my friends address in Calgary but doesn't stay there, would it be a problem?
2. Lets say if I move in with him and my wife moves back to US. Do you think they will email her PR to given address( Alberta address, where I will be staying) or they will get to know that person has exit Canada and may not send it.

I am sorry. I do not have any clue regarding this situation. But if I were you - definitely I would inform CIC about this development, since the Indian passport would have become invalid on taking up any other country's citizenship.
I know that because India does not allow dual citizenship, not as yet.
So that should be informed to Canada authorities, so that they can take on record new British passport.
I also wonder - and you may check this, being British citizen may give you some additional privileges also as far as CIC is concerned.
Like for instance - British citizens travel without visa to US, etc.

to Calgary123:
We landed on last week of Dec. I got mine about 3 weeks ago, and still waiting for my wifes.
|
to nileshabani:
Hi, there isnt the need of any immigration agent. The process is very simplified. You can download it from the CIC's website. It takes 8 to 12 months to get PR.
|
to Calgary123:
Received Today. Took 5 weeks.
|
to tica256:
Congrates Man. So is it like US Green card that you can't stay out of Canada for more than 6 months. Is there any limitation ?
|
to tica256:

|
to singhisking:
