Discuss Family Class case
we have really close timelines! any updates? I haven't even had a response that medicals rec'd yet!
No nothing yet, which I think is good. ByebyeBelfast is a month closer and they had some documents requested but I don't know what they were. I'm hoping the first we hear will be the passport request but I guess everybody does.
Keep in touch. Good luck. Lauren thanks Lauren!
Did you have an update on ECAS re meds rec'd? We haven't heard anything either! Look forward to having someone alongside me in this dreaded waiting game! Lee-Anne Hi Lauren and Lee-Anne, can I join your waiting game too ;)
We sent our application in and they started processing March 19th, was approved and sent to London. London started on March 31 and medicals have been received. Since then, no updates. Best of luck to you both!!! thanks! looks like some get med results and others don't...or my file was rec'd and has just been sitting there with NOTHING! I hate this waiting game so much! Look forward to the updates both of you!
thanks Lee-Anne and sorry, I didn't introduce myself......I'm Lorrie :)
Hey Ladies,
Lorrie, sounds like yours is just blitzing through! Adrian and I have made our parents' addresses the contact ones as we might be moving around during the process and were too afraid to rock the boat by 'changing details' and parents never go anywhere, so we hear through them. I don't find the website very helpful, it does say anything, just 'in progress'. It might be less stressful if there were smaller steps in between like - on the desk, under someone's coffee, in the photocopier - at least that way I might feel like someone somewhere was doing something. I'm sure we'll all make it through somehow. This website is a good support group though! Are either of you moving children through this process? Hey All, just thought I'd say hi. I put my app in a little before you but we're all waiting......I'm so anxious to just get it and go now. we're feeling like our entire life is in limbo.
Richard and Ashley hello everyone! Lauren! your comment was a good start to my morning! Totally agree. Couldn't care less if it was "going to be looked at after I pee, or after my holiday next week, or number 100,509th in line"...something to help all of our sanity.
I love the support from this site and the canadian immigration forum. It is helpful, although sad that we are all in the same boat waiting for our loved ones together. As much as my family can be supportive, no one will really understand unless they are doing the same process themselves! I don't have children, but I know someone who just emmigrated in Sept that does. They are happy and healthy and living in Alberta. Her husband moved first, bought a house, their car and then she stayed behind with the kids and sold their house and then packed up and moved when school started. Best of luck to you all! What's your "story"? Hi everyone,
Lauren, yes, we thought we were blitzing along too, but no news since March 31 is a little depressing. I do have to be thankful for the fact that my husbands medicals have been received. I absolutely agree with you about updating us with small steps, it sure would help us from going totally crazy ;) We are not moving with children although my husband does have a 20 year old son that is not immigrating with him. He has no contact whatsoever with his son so we were unable to get a medical for him. We hired a lawyer because we knew there might be a problem. My husband had to sign an affidavit stating that he understands he will never be allowed to sponsor his son to Canada. Also my hubby's childhood is a bit of a nightmare, sent to a care home, returned home and mother abandoned the family......hubby doesn't have birthdates of his siblings or father so that was another reason to hire the lawyer. We are both glad we did because he was very helpful and reasonable. Lee-Anne, I also love the support from the immgration.ca site!!!! Especially tranquil's posts, he keeps me in stitches and makes the wait so much more bearable. True about the family support, I have a 16 year old son and father and both are very supportive, but like you said, they've not been through it. I would just love to be able to get on with our lives!!! Hi mrmac, when did you submit your application? Lee-Anne hi! Coop, is your name Lee-Anne and spelled like mine too?!?!?! Small world if so!!!!!
Tranquil makes me laugh so much too! Thank goodness for that, or I would check into an asylum! I think sometimes HOW THE HECK CAN MY PARTNER BE SO CALM IN ALL OF THIS WHEN I FREAK OUT DAILY OF WORRY!?!?!? I don't know how he does it...but one day this will all be over. Yeah, I would love to have only that one calm statement. Instead I am left with 100,000,000 questions that lead to more questions, that lead to heartburn, that lead to a tub of icecream, a bag of chips, and usually whatever chocolate is in the house that I haven't consumed on my last panic of questions and doubts! Thank goodness for the gym, or i would get ulcers, a mental illness AND serious acne and cholesterol issues by the end of this! Hey Lee-Anne, seriously I am one foot out of the insane asylum. No, my name isn't Lee-Anne, it's Lorrie and I have no idea what the frig I was thinking when I signed off as Lee-Anne!!!!! Maybe I should copy this and send it to the immigration office to show them how we are slowly losing our minds ;)
I wonder how my hubby is so calm as well but he tells me there is no point in both of us getting worked up, I do it perfectly by myself!!!! Really though, I do see his point but it is sometimes annoying to see him so laid back. I do know that he tries to "smooth the waters" for me so that I can rest more easily. I understand about the food intake, my grocery bill has almost doubled since we began this process, and my hubs isn't even here yet ;) Have a great night and hope we get some good news soon!! P.S., I am still giggling about my mistake. Lorrie Lol sorry Lorrie i have to say the "nuthouse" maybe coming soon hahaha you cheered up my night though :D lol
Lisa We sent our app to Mississauga on 9th March, it arrived a couple of days later. According to ECAS London CHC starting processing my visa on 17th April.
mrmac, we sent our applications exactly the same day. Strange though that it took them until April 17th to start processing yours!!! Ours was sent on the 9th, received the same day. Started processing the sponsorship on the 19th, decision made on the 20th and then it was sent to London. London started processing on March 31st and medicals have been received. Seems crazy to me that both sent the same day, yet London took 17 extra days to start processing yours! :( Who knows what goes on in the immigration offices
Sorry, forgot to add, good luck to everyone this week. Hope we all hear updates!!!!
Yeah it is strange, the only thing I can think of is that as you sent yours from Canada it arrived sooner and was processed sooner
I know mine took 3 days from the UK (delivered on March 12th), sponsor decision made on the 25th, but like you said who knows what goes on. Maybe my case missed the weekly post to CHC London whilst yours made it....I could think up reasons all day but I wont :) Good luck everyone...its a new month so let hope it brings good news. CONGRATS LORRIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I am 17 days behind getting decision made too??? I will take anything ASAP at this point! in 19 days i will see my boyfriend and pray that we will hear something when I am with him to pop some champagne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!
Thank you sooooo much, I'm over the moon. Waiting to actually hear what the decision is, is killing me though ;) I'll be with my hubby on July 17th and we are back here on July 26, hopefully for his landing!!!
I'll keep you in my thoughts and pray that you have a quick answer! I'll keep you posted, thanks again JACKPOT! Passport requested by email. He's going to drop it off in person tomorrow and hopefully pick it up in 2 weeks. Can't believe it. What luck. Hope we're contagious. Good luck everyone.
Congratulations! You're on the home stretch now by the look and sounds of things!
Best, Tara Congratz!!
just a quick question.....how did you get it through an email? Did you request them to send it through email? Thanks What wonderful news Lauren, it's an amazing feeling, isn't it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did they also say the applcation was approved, or just ask for the passport?
I am so thrilled for you!! London really seems to be on a roll. Ok you other Londoners, get a move on ;) What wonderful news Lauren, it's an amazing feeling, isn't it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did they also say the applcation was approved, or just ask for the passport?

Hey Lorrie,
Thanks for the congrats. The email said, 'Dear Applicant, Please be advised that your file is now ready for visa issuance. Please refer to the attached document for further instructions.' and explained to mail or bring in the passport to the CHC. So I'm guessing we're all approved. I feel like our relationship has been officially recognised by the Canadian Government! Such a relief, we have a lot of work-related hoops to jump through so we really needed a moral boost before we were totally smothered by bureaucracy. But if you don't have the visa, you got nothin'! We're hoping he can 'land' next month when my family is at the cottage - perfect 'induction ceremony' into being Canadian. Dear Hills, We didn't specifically ask for email but our details were in the application. I think someone else in the last couple of weeks had the same. The ECas site still says 'in process' today but my husband was given a new file number today to check online and it says differently. We've had no correspondence since I was approved as a sponsor. None of our stuff has been sent back. This is totally out of the blue. Not sure if email is their new thing. Dear TaraW, Thanks for the congrats. We've been way more fortunate than others, that's for sure. Good luck. Lauren Lauren!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats! Yeah london! since i am 11 days behind you, i am hoping that I will hear something soon! Please keep fingers crossed as this would be amazing to celebrate next week when I am back with my other half! Best of luck to you and CONGRATS again!
P.S did the email go to your inbox or junk mail? what was the sender info so that I can HOPE to keep my eyes open for something soon!
Hi MrsDRV
Could you please post the email address's ending part like "@hotmail.com" from which you received your email, so we all could actually add that into our safe sender list and i wont get through to spam box. Would be grateful thanks. Hi Lee- Anne, thanks, I'm hopeful for you too. The email was from '@international.gc.ca'. Really hope it doesn't end up in your junk email! Good luck. Lauren
By the way, I think it was elricho who also received an email but I'm pretty sure his ecas profile got updated too, which mine hasn't been. Hope that doesn't mean anything because my guy has handed in his passport already... L
Lauren,
I have been checking my email diligently and nothing, so I doubt I missed anything. Even my hotmail junk mail is thoroughly checked. Here's to hoping something happens soon! At least I am on my way to see my man next week! Best of luck waiting for your passport! It happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE got PPR! Graham kept it a surprise till I came to the UK on holidays and ECAS was changed today! HOLY! I have been in tears on and off all afternoon!!!!!!!!!
Best of luck to those still waiting or moving! Many congratulations! It feels awesome to be able to start to picture your future without worrying that you're jinxing something. Enjoy. I'm also in the UK on holiday. We picked up the passport and visa yesterday from Grosvenor Square. Such a little thing to upset so many lives! Almost expected it to play a fanfare or something when you open the passport but no just a sticker in a page. Can't wait for the 'landing' now.
Best, Lauren Great to hear you picked up the visa, Lauren. My hubby will be doing the same this coming Thursday :) I got a little chuckle out of your comments about the fanfare when you open the passport. I felt that way about the PPR letter. It was rather boring!! We were kidding that it would start out with a big whooo hooo and a welcome to join Canada, possibly a Canadian flag lapel pin, but no, nothing like that at all ;)
When are you landing? I'm going to the UK on July 17th and we're both coming back on the 26th. Hubby will land then. Best of luck to everyone that is still waiting. Congrats to you all! I totally feel the pain and anxiety of this waiting game! London started processing ours on 17th March and since then no news - my husband has not recieved any email nor mail nor his own file no...which i noticed not all get.
It's almost 4 months that London will have our case - not sure if i should send an enquiry email...any advice guys? thanks Dear DrsV
had one more question for ya....did you ever hear from them prior to PPR email? any file no thanks for the info you landed! congrats! hope all went well!
Hi Simran28,
Sorry for the late reply, hope you've had some news in the meantime. We didn't hear anything between the Sponsorship approval and the email explaining where to send the passport for the visa. We've never had any documents or photos requested and we still haven't go our stuff back though he's landed already. The only thing we've ever been sent was the sponsorship approval - never got a letter in the mail about the passport request. In the passport request email, there was a new case number for ECas. Under that file, it said decision made. I used our old one and it got updated a few days later so they seem to give access to the same thing. Good luck with your application, I know it's tense. Lauren
