Waiting...

Know the feeling - I reckon about october or November we should hear something!

Yes, my OH feels that it will be between Sept and Dec this year that we MAY get an update letter. Our immigration consultant believes we should hear around the end of this year.
We are trying to be proactive however and have booked a trip out at the end of September to attend a recruitment fair in Toronto.
Lets hope that we are both looking forward to finally moving over next year!
Lorraine.

That's my expectation too. We're going over to Toronto at the end of September too as my OH is running the marathon!!! What recruitment fair are you visiting? Might be worth us having a look too if you can share the details.

Thanks
R

We are going to the National Job Fair & Training Expo on 30th Sept/1st Oct.
I have put the address to the web site below.

We have never been so do not know what to expect but we feel that doing something is better than nothing!
Are you headed for Toronto eventually? or somewhere else?
Posted by ribtickle on 04 Aug 2008
Thanks for that, will definitely be checking that out when we go over. This will be aour 4th trip in 6 years and each time we've spent a few days or more in Toronto. It is out intended location, or somewhere in the GTA if not the Centre itself. Have looked at other locations but only Vancouver was on a par, but then that's further and houses are twice the price! Toronto has acertain vibe that always feels good.

We're renting an apartment for 2 weeks in the centre when we go over, so we will have to cater for ourselves a bit and be a bit more organised. Also give a chance to do a reckie on houses and the like. Fingers crossed that this time next year we'll be heading to Toronto.

Glad everything's caught up with you now Lorrraine. Fingers crossed this should be the last christmas in the UK - seems to have taken ages to get here and now its all of sudden happening. Just as the housing market is looking a bit dodgy too for selling up!!! Typical hey?!

Yes, 2008 has felt like a long year, 2009 will probably seem even slower whilst we are waiting for meds etc!
Anyway, it is good to have got this far, bring on the next step and yes, fingers crossed that this is the last Christmas here.
Fortunately for us we sold up our house a while ago, guess that was a good decision to make...
Enjoy the rest of your wekend.

Any news on meds Lorraine? I'm going to start ringing up for ours in the next few days now Mum's funeral is over with and we've more or less cleared everything out. Thanks for your kind words before.

Hi LorraineG
How much did you pay for your medical examination?
Thank you for your response.
Posted by LorraineG on 16 May 2009
Approx £1200 for a family of 5 at Number One Health in Harley Street. They were very good, particularly with the children and I can recommend them.
Good luck!

Hi Lorraine,

can i know at the time of submitting passport, any additional forms need to be submitted along with passports? or just simply a passports?
please let me know if any additional fees visa for visa?
Posted by LorraineG on 21 Jun 2009
When you get your passport request they send you an updated information form, you need to take in this form fully completed, your passports and two 'photographs per person. We were asked to pay the ROPR fee when we took our medicals, we had no more fees to pay with the passports submision. Hope this helps!
Lorraine.
