No i think I got PNP certificate on Oct 21 or around that. I gathered all documents and sent to Buffalo on Nov 10, Buffalo returned the file because they found I had missed out on 4 months of my employment and adress date when I was 19 (this was sent back withing a week). So i corrected it and shouls mail out the documents in first week of december.

You will get PNP (provided everything is OK) on 83-86 th day from Nov 24. Then u got to send documents to buffalo.

Yes, it would be better to include birth cerrt and marriage cert with forms.

Thanks greer. I am now waiting for the file number from the AINP office and hopefully they will send my PNP in about 2 months.

Are you talking about the "personal history" section of the CIC form where you had 4 months gap? Wasn't that the same form you sent to the AINP office? It looks like they do not look at the CIC form very well at the AINP office.

I am glad it did not take them forever to get back to you on that 4 months issue. Wish you all the best with CIC.

Did u guys recieve any kind of confirmation that your AINP recieved your package. I sent mine on Nov 22 for AINP second stage. I called them but they said they cant confirm reciept of package.
 Posted by nix1 on 25 Dec 2008
I did receive the file number on Dec 17th. Mine was received by the AINP on Nov 28th (according to the USPS) and they also confirmed that date when they sent me the file number.

Nix1

Now from 85 to 90 days from Nov 28 , you would get PNP along with the documents to be sent to CIC. Then they would take another 6 to 9 months, you would get the nomination...
 Posted by nix1 on 26 Dec 2008
Thanks greer. About the time frame, this is what the e-mail says, "A decision on your application may be made in approximately 40 to 60 working days."

Anyway, I can wait 90 days if necessary as long as I get PNP certificate. I learned that I made a mistake when I filled out a form for my wife (the form where she needs to write down everyone in her family). On that form, she was supposed to be the "Applicant", but we put my name as the "Applicant" thinking that they are asking the name of the Principle Applicant. That was not the case. I am going to have to send corrected form soon.
 Posted by bigbunny101 on 26 Dec 2008
No, that form is right. You are the principal applicant on all forms and then is your wife. My wife did not want to put her mother and father info but I made her :) ....Waiting for my file number, hopefully is not lost in the mail.

So it may be that they will send you the nomination By Jan 28.
 Posted by nix1 on 26 Dec 2008
Bigbunny101,

According to this conversation, what I did was wrong. So, I need to put my wife as "Applicant" on this form and send the form to the AINP: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=575611.

When you mailed your docs, did you get a tracking number from USPS or Fedex or whatever company you used to send the package? The tracking number should tell you when the package got there. You can write e-mail telling them when you sent it and when they received it according to the tracking number. I e-mailed them with those information and after a few days later, they e-mailed me my file number. Good luck.

Greer,

I am hoping to receive my nomination by the end of Jan 09. Thanks.
 Posted by nix1 on 10 Feb 2009
Finally, I received my nomination today, Feb 10, 2009.
Posted by NSNPCI on 11 Feb 2009
Congratulations nix1. Glad to hear about your nomiation. Good luck for your federal processing ahead! I requested to change my visa office and they sent me a new nomination letter designating Buffalo (instead of New Delhi) as visa office. I submitted all of my application package on Feb 5 to Buffalo. Waiting for the medical request soon. (should receive med req within a month???) I don't know how do they send for my family who are in Nepal. May be first of all to me....?
Posted by NayaGabru on 11 Feb 2009
congrats Nix1. Hope all goes well with CIC. Resolve any query which may have been raised by AINP before sending to CIC.
Best.
Posted by ndbhatt on 20 Feb 2009
Congrats Nix1, you should get response from CIC in or around 60 days from date of application with CIC.
 Posted by nix1 on 14 Mar 2009
Thanks NSNPCI, greer and ndbhatt. Sorry! it took me while to come back to this forum and reply to you guys.

NSNPCI, I think they will send the medical package to you and you would have to send the copy of your wife and kids back home. I don't know if you have already received you medical request, but I have heard it takes about 2 months after CIC receives your documents.

greer, what do you mean by "resolve any query which may have raised by AINP"? I do not see any queries on the documents that were mailed to me. I had to send the PN Acknowldgement form back to them within a month and I did that and I also confirmed with my PN officer that he received it.

ndbhatt, I hope they will reply me within 60 days, but I still have not sent my docs as I am still waiting for Police Clearance from my wife's home country and PCCs from States that I have lived for 6 months. There are 4 of them I need to get from.

Good luck to all of you.

Hey Nix

I did not understand this PCC. Maybe u can help me.

I did medicals in end of Mar, Doc sent it on 10 Apr. Then I send my own FBI check (got it in Nov 08), local police check for spouse/sef, RPRF for the family and medical receipt.

Then I get a letter again in end of Apr - says CIC requires FBI check for both spouse /self, PCC from India. And it says - if you have already sent it, then ask them after 90 days from this letter for the status.

I got PCC from India and FBI check for wife meanwhile - so I sent it in end of April.

Should I call them up and ask them abt this confusion and when should I ask them. And who should I ask - Buffalo office or NY office. And

In addition my post office seems to have not scanned the letter, inspite of it being a certified mail. That mail had the most difficult obtained document - that was PCC.

Anyways, PERM I got on 04 May, Attorney is working on I 140. But there seems to be no end to this GC queue. PPL have been in line for years...I don't know if this issue can even get resolved.
Congrats to u. Where are u filing I 140. Is it Nebraska (mine is). Look out for my status. I will update as soon as I get any info from attorney.
 Posted by nix1 on 13 May 2009
Greer,

Looks like there has been some communication gap. Looks like you submitted your PCCs on later date (not with the initial application). If that is the case, then they did not received the PCC before they moved your file to NY. NY looked at your file and they did not find PCCs. Anyway, call or e-mail Buffalo first and ask if they have your PCCs and request them if they can forward those to NY. Call or e-mail NY and tell them that you mailed your PCCs to Buffalo (give them detail info like date and what PCCs were included) and let them know that you are in touch with Buffalo office and you are trying to have those PCCs forwarded to NY. Good luck.

I had received my nomination in Jan of 08. It expires at the end of this month. I still have not been able to put together the FBI/ and police report from back home. Is that something that can be sent later or does it need to be sent along with the application?

Sid
Posted by NayaGabru on 17 Jun 2009
Sid,

It can be sent later on. Infact the CIC would ask you which PCC they require.

But don't delay in sending the application, the earlier u send, the better u would avoid any sudden changes in rules...
 Posted by nix1 on 22 Jun 2009
greer is right about that. If I remember correctly, greer himself sent his PCCs on a later date. So, send your application as soon as you can and worry about PCCs later. If you want to send everything together, you may be able to ask for a 'letter of extension' from your Nominee Officer at AINP.

Hey nix1,

We have almost same time lines. My application reached buffalo on 27 April and my check got cashed on 18 May. I just want to know that did you get ur immigration file number fromt he back of your check and if so can you see the status online yet. Also when did your check got cashed.

 Posted by Sid0293 on 22 Jun 2009
When you send the payment...what form of payment is prefered? can i send them personal check in USD amount or does it have to be a Money Order in Canadian funds..

Sid
Posted by piranim on 22 Jun 2009
They dont accept personal checks. You can send money orders in USD.
 Posted by Sid0293 on 22 Jun 2009
Thanks Piranim

did you just calculate the exchange rate and sent them the Money Order. It sayis 550 canadian per application. Did you get the current translation rate and sent it to them?

Sid
 Posted by nix1 on 22 Jun 2009
piranim,

At the beginning, I was having hard time finding where the file number was located on the check and nomad_musafir from canadavisa forum helped me with that, but I was not able to read it. So, I have never been able to check my status online. My check got cashed on May 7th and I still have not received my AOR+Medicals.
 Posted by nix1 on 22 Jun 2009
Sid,

CIC Buffalo accepts fees in CAN$ and US$. You do not convert yourself. They have specified the amount in each currency, which is 550CAN$ and 465US$ per person for adult. You may want to visit these two links:

Thanks for the link Nix. It was helpful. I think i am going to send in the application without the Police Reports. They will probably send me a letter with insufficient documents.

 Posted by nix1 on 03 Jul 2009
Thanks SUKHMINDER. It's going to be a pretty good weekend for me. This week, I also got my EAD approved from the USCIS and also completed biometrics. Waiting for decisions on AP and GC now. But I am very excited that my CIC process is moving forward and I will post here when I find out about my file transfer. Thanks again.

No news. Still waiting for PPR or any kind of communication from the NY office. Looks like they forgot about me.
Posted by SUKHMINDER on 19 Oct 2009
Congratulations!! and now you know that they didnt forget you..lol
Posted by gonorth on 19 Oct 2009
Hey Nix1, Congratulation! You are almost there...

I had one question for you. After how many days did you get the PPR letter, after your eCase status changing to "Medical results have been received"? It's been a week for me, but I still haven't got the PPR.

Thanks.
 Posted by nix1 on 21 Oct 2009
Sukhminder, Thanks for your message and good to see you back here. How is Alberta? Are you still there Or came back after landing?

GoNorth, Thanks for your message as well. Mine took unusually long time after eCAS showed the medical results have been received message. It started showing on Sept 7th and I got my PPR on Oct 19th. Normally, for others, it has taken anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks. You should get yours this week, if not next week.
Posted by SUKHMINDER on 21 Oct 2009
nix1, good to hear good news for you too. I am in Edmonton Alberta still and have no plans to come back to US as of now :)
 Posted by nix1 on 21 Oct 2009
Sukh, could you please give me some inside scoops on job situation in Edmonton or anywhere in Alberta? I am open to any kind of jobs even though my experiences have been in IT fields. I really want to move to Alberta, but sometimes I fear that I may have to go through a lot of struggles to feed my two little ones. I have a good job here in the US including a salary increase of $20K a couple of weeks ago and live in a nice neighbourhood in Utah. I am probably going to get my US GC soon too, but my heart is in Canada. But if there are no jobs, then not sure how I am going to support my family. Thanks.
Posted by SUKHMINDER on 21 Oct 2009
nix1..if you have a job in USA with salary hike and a good place to live then why would you want to move to the cold (unless your family loveesss snow). I havent explored the job market in IT yet but I have seen that people do get jobs here. The environment is quiet quiet different from USA (I was in California), people are nice it seems here, laid back and cool kinda. Health options are good (as far as I have experienced so far)..but still if your heart is in Canada then you will for sure survive (even if there are struggles). Make an educated decision so that you dont regret later...cos choice is yours. You can also do the landing process and then get back to USA with your current job, have a canadian telephone number(some VoIP like comwave.ca) and look for jobs and see how it goes.
 Posted by nix1 on 26 Oct 2009
Thanks Sukh for your reply. Well, we love snow, but snow is not going to feed us, so job is more important that anything else espacially when you have kids. As you have suggested, my plan is also to land and come back to the US and look for a job in Alberta while keeping my current job. I probably have to figure out the Canadian phone etc once I land and come back.

Have you seen people getting job easily in places like walmart or shopping malls or restaurants etc? I probably have to look for a temporary job in one of those places until something good comes up (I never thought I will have this kind of low expectation after obtaining a couple of degrees and several years of work experience in professional level). Thanks again.

Thanks,

Hi Nix

Went thru the blog. It was very informative. I had only one question - how will you get your PR card - if you have to go and collect it by yourself. I understand that now you are in US, how will you return to Canada again. Please answer ASAP.

Thanks,
 Posted by nix1 on 12 Dec 2009
greer,

I am going to remove that document from the blog. It was a wrong information I was given at the port of entry. Anyway, no need to go to Canada to pick it up. They will mail it the address you have given them at the port of entry. Even if I need to go to Canada, I can go there without the PR card as long as I have my passport and COPR and driving a private vehicle. Good luck to you.

Hi Nix1

Thanks for the information. Good that u clarified.
Posted by NayaGabru on 12 Dec 2009
Hey Nix

One more question. Does it make any difference as to when you land. Like I mean to say - are there any timings for border booth - to go or are they open 24x7. I plan to go to Windsor next week. Do u think it would make any difference if I land at morning.
Thanks
 Posted by nix1 on 12 Dec 2009
Most of the busy port of entries are open 24-hours, means you can land anytime you want. Here are the official links of Windsor crossing and found two links and both say 24 hours services. So, you should be fine anytime. Good luck to you.

Sorry for the delay reply and I am not sure what to tell you. It is a complicated situation that you have got. You better post your question here:
