Hello -- after I recieved my PNP and had to send all my stuff to Buffalo, there was a place in the paperwork I submitted where it asked if I would like my file transferred to Seattle or New York. I picked Seattle because I came to canada from Washington State, and because I figured that office would be more efficient than the NY office. I have been in Edmonton on a work permit, and have executed this process from inside Canada.

Hey! U asked me if they made any probs because of my daughter- no- they did not. I, unfortunately, have to delete my case today. So please do not resopnd to my file. All the best for U!

Hey goldmtn!
We haven't had any problems in the end with my other daughters medicals. They just accepted our letter with the statement that she is not willing to undergo them. We landed on July, 7th, but we are still waiting for our PR cards. When we called the hotline they told us that the border did not forward our documents to them until now. To bad! Now we'll move first and then take care of the rest!
The best of luck to you!

hi goldmtn,

did you recieve any letter for your initial assessment? If yes, what was the content of the letter. hope you dont mind me asking. thanx
Posted by goldmtn on 29 Sep 2009
tessv106,
the letter we received from cic was to request a new application from my son as he turned 18 in aug. they also requested the landing
fee's as well. our medical haven't been sent by the doctor yet so they also reminded us to get our medical'sa into them within 60 days
from the date of their letter or show proof the medical were done. which we sent them the receipt. apparently they had gone through
our file in order to discover my son just turned 18 yrs at the end of aug. they didn't request anything else. our file was pretty complete
with all the items they require on the checklist.

Hi Goldmtn

Good luck with your PPR request. I see we both are close to same process time line. I did not get any info yet about NY receiving my medical yet. I was just wondering how did they did inform you? Did they send you e-mail or post mail at your address?

Thank you and goodluck

Ripon,
I knew ottwa received the medicals because I tracked them through usps. they got them on Oct. 13th but cic didn't acknowledge they received them. So
I e-mailed New York to ask them if they (New York) received them. A couple of days later New York e-mailed back the following:
The medical results were received. Your file is in queue for further processing and review by the immigration officer.
The e-mail was dated Nov. 13th. A few days after that they changed e-case to show medicals received.

Hi Goldmtn
Thank you for your promt rely. I didn't know NY will not inform about about not receiving the medical until we ask for it. I e-mailed NY few hours ago. I will wait until next week for them to give a reply. I checked my e-case and it did not change yet.
Thank you for the info and goodluck.

Ripon, Your welcome. They will e-mail you back. It may take a couple of days, but they will. I hope the process goes smooth for us this new year. I am sure you and I will hear some good news to start off our new year. Take care and let's keep in touch.

Terrible terrible things happened to me!
I contact CIC and they said they sent my passport along with the PR VISA to me on Oct 19 and today is already Dec 9, i am afraid it is lost in the mail, I have no idea what today, i am so nervous now :-(
anyone has any advice
Posted by goldmtn on 09 Dec 2009
I am happy for you and sad at the same time. CIC, I assume, is aware that you did not receive your passport. Did they suggest anything to you
about getting another passport (duplicate) and sending it to them for stamping?
If this happened to me I would immediately notify my gov. about the situation. Findout what i would need to do to get anonther passport (duplicate) or a new one issued. People do lose their passports. I would inform CIC of my intentions. And keep them inform of process of obtaining a new passport or duplicate passport. Good luck! and congrates on your approval

@goldmtn
whatz up any update yet?
Posted by mimingarz on 17 Dec 2009
I have sent a fax and email to CIC about my intention of getting a replacement passport and ask them if they will re-issue PR VISA , but it has been a week, and they havent replied me yet...
Posted by goldmtn on 17 Dec 2009
Justron, Not a thing going on. I was hoping to see some passport request for Xmas, but it looks like no one has received a ppr since Dec. 9th. maybe CIC is saving up all the ppr's for next week ho ho ho!.

Mimingarz, Keep on it and get a reply from them. That way you will have proof that CIC was informed of the situation, and your intentions to corrrect it. And if CIC needs you to go about it differently, you will know. I wouldn't wait to long before sending another e-mail. I am sure they can't too busy to
get back to you.

goldmtn, no luck for me today. :-( may be tomorrow is my lucky day.. just may be :)
Posted by goldmtn on 15 Jan 2010
Gonorth, let's hope tomorrow is a good day. I just saw on CNN today, that canada is thinking about laxing the requirements for immigrants from Haiti, this could mean CIC immediately expediate processing of exsisting files to take on new applications from Haiti. Or it could mean they stop working all files except for files from Haiti immigrants. or it could mean nothing! I am fine waiting if it helps some of those poor folks.

any updates goldmtn?
Posted by goldmtn on 21 Jan 2010
Dispo, Thanks for asking. I wish I could say yes, but there is no news, from NY. I am sure you know how it feels to be left in the PPR lounge. But I guess I should be happy I am in the PPR lounge as I could still be back waiting for my medical to be acknowledge. How is everything going with you? Are you excited about making your plans for the move? Knowing your approved must take alot of presure off you. Not knowing sucks!

Hey goldmtn, I can feel the pain buddy. But i always told people Immigration is nothing but pure Luck. Some people are very lucky that they get everything so quick and people like you and me have to wait little bit longer but trust me it is worth waiting. You would say same thing once you get your PPR request. Update about me at this moment i got my CPR and Passports back from NY consulate. no plans of moving yet but yeah now started thinking about landing formalities may be i will wait for that till we are off the snow so i could take little vacation with my family and plan to drive to alberta but as always i'll keep you posted. let me know once you get your PPR good luck buddy.

Hi goldmtn, I finally got my med request (it doesn't say in the letter if the interview is waived or not; hoping it will be).

I remember that you mentioned that its possible to send the RPRF fee to Buffalo without being requested (I believe their address is: Consulate General of Canada, Immigration Regional Program Centre, 1 HSBC Center, Buffalo, New York, 14203-2884, USA)

Do you still think if it is a good idea to send this bank draft preemptively?

Would I just write down my CIC case # on the check so it gets applied to my file?

Do you know if anybody else has done this?
Posted by goldmtn on 27 Jan 2010
Lime, The RPRF is the only fee refundable if your file is not approved,so it is safe to send. But there is no hurry at this point if you just received medical request. One thing that may still happen is your file could be transfered to another visa office. This happen to me after I was notified to get medical's(Aug 3rd) I received another letter Sept. 17th, stating my file was transfered to NY on Aug 25th and mention that the RPRF was needed for my file. I sent that to them within a couple of days. Make sure you send it so you can track it and get proof that CIC received it and include your immigration # on the check. If you don't send the RPRF they will request it from you near the end of the process usally when they request your passport. Hope this helps
and best of luck to you.

Posted by goldmtn on 03 Feb 2010
