I am actually also considering taking an infopass to figure out where does my case stand but I was not sure if they would tell me about name check and stuff but looking at ur post it seems like they do tell you the status.
So I might take the infopass. I am also hoping to get through this process soon inshAllah. Lets hope for the best and May Allah bless us all :)
How long does it take at the infopass appointment. Did you go to the Atlanta office?

Have you taken any measures so far to expedite your name check? I am also stuck in name check since Nov 2006. Here on this forum I see a few Pakistanis getting quick approvals, so there is a bit of a hope :)

I have a similar long standing case and had a 485 soft LUD on 3/10/2008 and 3/11/2008. You can still go online, setup your account, and check the last date of 485 activity on your file.

Posted by Greeen2008 on 06 May 2008A couple of my friends from Pakistan got their Green cards last week and they were stuck in name check as well, like I was. There cases were also in Texas center. So inshAllah you will get green card soon as well. One thing that I have noticed lately is that USCIS is becoming more active. I remember in 2006 when I joined Trackitt I would hardly see one or two approvals in a week but now u see approvals everyday :)

I took an infopass on Apr 9,08(NY) the IO told me that my name check was cleared and the file was send to an examiner in TSC. After 4 weeks I called TSC and they said my case is still in Name check.
No LUD since Sep 2007 (FP)

I was told in early april that my case is with an AO, name check not necessary after new memo.
I am still waiting........requested US Senator (OK) to initiate a status inquiry last week.
I am goingh to wait for about 2 more months and if I dont hear until then I am thinking of WOM.
There were good number of approvals last week and so.
I hope it will come soon.
