Hi! the Jan 17 processing dates update from the USCIS seems to suggest that they are currently processing I-485 applications filed around Jul 13, 2006 e.g., see https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=Nebraska

It appears that your I-140 was approved quite some time ago. From your labor filing date, I would guess that your priority date is also current. Have you tried to find out (thru your attorney or directly with the USCIS) why your case is taking so long - is the priority date current? Are there delays with the name checks? Some other reasons?

Hi,
What country are you from?

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply.
I had called USCIS directly around 3 weeks back. They created a service request. Then, last week, I got a letter from USCIS saying that they are doing a security check against my application. So it looks like I am in the dreaded name check loop! FYI, I am from India.

Here is what the USCIS letter says:
"The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.
Until the background investigation is completed we cannot move forward on your case.
If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call us by calling the customer service number."

Has any one got a similiar message from USCIS and then subsequently got the case approved?
