Other than requesting CC during filing, did you do anything else to get them to process your case as CC?
Good to see NSC CC approval. Congrats!

Hi Permie,
I had generated a SR in November and was told that a letter would be sent to you in 30 days.
I went for an Info pass in Jan 08 as no letter and was told the NC is pending.
In May got a letter stating VISA number not available (which is not true as the CC is the proof of visa number availability).
So my lawyer approached them again stating to reconsider the case and apply CC (eveidently they didn't even though they accepted the case on CC)

within two weeks i get RFE after responding to RFE i got second FP notice and today got the welcome email.

Hope this helps. please feel free to ask anything else that might concern you.

Thanks for the info. Did your lawyer just sent them a letter asking to reconsider CC? I am waiting to be outside of 30 days processing times to open SR.

Can you give us more details on how your lawyer approached them. I send in 2 letters restating that I was CC but they send replies stating that I should contact the Customer service.

direstraits and Permie,

to answer your question correctly: i have a long and probably not a very helpful explanation but nevertheless - here you go.

I had been inquiring with my lawyers for the past 1 year to check for the CC being applied to my case and i use to get the same old answer from my lawyers office: "if not for your CC, USCIS would have never accepted your Application rjm".

Just FYI: when I applied in December 2006, these CC cases were being cleared in like 3 months with GC in hand. and it just made me frustrated and mad that my case was not being cleared .... and then, last year, in June/July 2007, this window opened up for everybody to apply; so my lawyer office started telling me its being delayed because of number of application recevied by USCIS and we can't do anything till your case becomes current.... all BS.

Anyways, so after that my lawyer generated a service request in December 2007 (told me that i will recieve a written notification by mail) and after 30 days of waiting and no mail, I took an infopass and visited the local office to find out my Name check was pending..... (figures.......)

and holy crap, i get the service request reply from the december service request in first week of May 2008, that due to unavailability of VISA numbers we are unable to process your case and will have to wait till it becomes available.

NOW THIS WAS COMPLETE CRAP and the written proof that my case was not Cross Charged and this time i demanded to speak with the Lawyer at my Lawyer office (till now it was all the time the receptionist - never allowing my call to go further)

The lawyer said; let me look into this and the ONLY thing she told me next day is; "I have faxed the CC letter and the entire application with the written notice and have followed up with our NSC local contact. we should hear from them in a week"

I know you guys would have the question: "NSC local contact?" I was too, and they just won't reveal what sort of contact, person/lawyer/immigration officer/etc. i have no clue.

I was so furious - if you had a contact - why didn't you use it in the first place and why did i have to wait for 1.4 years unnecessarily.....
but kept myself cool -- still my GC is not in hand and might need their help in the recent future. I am just taking the solace in the fact that after they contacted their person at NSC within 10 days i got a RFE - within next 10 days i got a second FP order and within next 5 days an email stating that "Card Production Ordered"

I know all this jargon ultimately won't help you -- but the fact that the Lawyers have internal connections is so damn true.

God Bless us All
