what in the world is an LUD?
If you go to USCIS case status online, you will see a date next to your I485 case? This date gets updated when they touch your case everytime. See the date and it will give you an idea when your last Last Updated Date(LUD) was! Pleople keep track of this date everytime..
Also did you call USCIS anytime recently??

I just signed up for the first time and finally saw the LUD. Previously, I had just been checking the status by typing my receipt number. My LUD is 3/4/2008. So my case has been touched fairly recently but don't know what it means since I had not signed up earlier and therefore have not received an email. Do you know which number I should call to check the status? (yes, i'm pretty ignorant of all the basic stuff. just too frustrated by it all to care anymore).

RFE was on my wife's case, asking for two things: proof of marriage and proof of birth/parentage.
