ShangriLa,

It looks like the posting was removed but I wanted to close with you on it.

I think we have the same intent. Many have negative comments and these are not helpful. I did not take any offense with your reply to my posting but I want this forum to be as helpful as possible to everyone who comes here.

I can understand that conversing in ones home language can also provide a lot of comfort and help, but I would rather see that provided for all. Let us continue to provide that support and most of all levity in this forum, and where possible be aware of others needs and feelings.

Good luck in your application, you have many steps to go through yet and hopefully they will be quick and easy for you. for me, I am waiting to reach my own ShangriLa and hope that is is close.

All the best,
6

Do you know if your nc is cleared? other than that our cases are so alike. hope we have some news soon. the other difference is I have already rfes in nov 2007. I guess we are both current under india as well as row now.have you done nething else like contact senators etc.
Posted by ShangriLa on 11 Jun 2008
I've never called CIS ever since I filed labor in March/'04, so don't know about NC clearance. I'll probably call after 180 days after my 485 receipt date (so in couple of months). What was your RFE about?

Just EVL and status information for my wife?
Posted by ShangriLa on 11 Jun 2008
For status info, did you submit all prior Notices of Approval? You probably will see green soon!!

Hi ShangriLa:

Before I ask you a question, I want to commend your poetic language. An avid reader and admirer of literature myself, I liked your post about hyenas and serengati... The allegories were subtle and apt.

Let me first make you aware of my situation. I am in my 8th year of H1B1. All along I have been with the same company. My wife is in her 3rd year of H1B1 and hasn't started her green card process yet. She might apply when she has 18 months left on her H1. My I-140(EB-3) was approved recently with PD of July 2007. Going by the availability of the EB3 Visas, I know it might take a few years to get the greencard - if at all!!

I have no plans of changing my company because it not only is the best pay master but also is a very laid back and zero stress work place. I want to seek your advice regarding the best course of action for us. Since it may take another 5 years for my PD to become current, should I also have my wife get started with the process. She also happens to be under EB3 category. My wife is a canadian citizen (born and raised in India). I was also wondering if you have an idea as to when PD of July 2007 would/could become current.

Thanks a lot for reading this mail. I hope you succeed in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,
gcpro

gcpro: Thank you for your kind words. I am currently traveling and will definitely get you some input when I return. Some brief comments - your wife was born in India, she too will be under the dreaded EB3/India yoke. Also try to see if she could apply in EB2.

gcpend4evr: I have a CC to UK and being an EB2, it was like riding a Ferrari on the Autobahn :-) I see that you have a similar PD as me and a CC to RoW, and am surprised at your long wait. Hopefully you will be out of this very soon.

Hey Tikal, hope you had a wonderful summer. Congrets and enjoy your freedom :) Smiles, m.
Posted by ShangriLa on 11 Sep 2008
Thanks Masami. Yes, summer was great - came back to Trkt couple days back but could not recognize most people as a ton of July '07 filers are now active. It was fun when you, Zma, Track and some other familiar folks were around. I guess people gravitate out of here in couple of months after getting the GC. Hope you are doing fine, and keep your profile open, so I can ping you sometime!

congratulations man!

hartelijk gefeliciteerd!

Bedankt. Uw brood wordt bijna gebakken. There is a whiff of currants from the oven, and I have a strong feeling that you will be in possession of 'a' card come this Christmas.
Posted by mkmi on 12 Sep 2008
LOL, you can ping me anytime :) It was really fun when everyone was still around. I miss your jokes a lot :) Tikal, have a great trip to Peru. I love Peruvian food but there are only a few very good Peruvian restaurants in NYC. Wish you a happy Friday and have a great weekend :)
