Congratulations Jasmine! I have a question about the calling to expedite. My Received date is the same as yours and my FP date was on 7/22/08. What do you have to say when you called them to expedite? Thanks!

I asked for expedite processing based on financial loss to individual. My current EAD expires in Sept. Without an EAD, I can not continue to work. My husband and I are buying a house, which is quite expensive. So I called and told the customer representative that without my portion of the household income, we are not able to afford such a big mortgage. The lady on the other end of the phone was obviously quite sympathetic with my case and repeated "I can certainly image" several times. She filled out a service request for expedite processing and told me that within 5 days I will be contacted to submit necessary documents. The next thing happened to me is that I got this email notifying me of the approval of my EAD application. My guess is that as long as you have a legitimate reason why you want them to process your case right away, they will honor your request. I was prepared to send them my mortgage document showing the monthly payment dues and our pay stubs to back up my request. But they did not ask for the documents.
If you think you absolutely need your EAD issued right away, you should definitely call to expedite your case. Good luck!
