I know that I am commenting on my own case but I will give some background. I have applied with my sponsor under the Conjugal Partner clause of the Spouses and Partners category of the Family Class visa. Right now my application is in Mississauga and they are evaluating my partner. I do not know if they will send an AOR letter from Mississauga or from Buffalo. I guess we shall see.

Hi rcattig.. we have similar timelines but my husband and I went under the spousal catagory, not conjugal. He was approved as my sponsor on June 27th.. about a week after yours. Did you receive the AOR on July 11th, or is that when it was dated? I'm getting so antsy waiting for Buffalo to create our file!! Thank you, and good luck! Jasmina

Thanks for the response.. we can only access eCAS through my sponsor right now, and we keep logging in, hoping to see 'in process' under the applicant section, next to where it says 'decision made' under his. Today is three weeks since sponsorship approval, and two weeks since we received the approval letter. I'm incredibly anxious to be with my partner, clearly.. lol. I do hope we both see some progress, and quickly.. I look forward to both of our timelines turning green with approval!

AOR arrived today, dated for the 16th! Tried my file number in eCAS.. no luck yet. And yes, same situation.. the sponsorship only ever showed as 'decision made'.. was unable to see it at any other time. Potential issue.. my AOR has my state incorrect.. I'm in NJ and they have it as NY. I plan to send something tomorrow to rectify that.

Really? I was under the impression that all my name would ever say under my sponsor's eCAS is 'not available'.. maybe 'in process'.

Hey there.. thank you for the congrats. We never got an IA letter.. just an AOR, and two weeks later, the PPR. (Got to love acronyms.) The PPR letter basically says: Congratulations, your application for PR in Canada is complete. We require your passport before August 29, 2007 (date written in blue ink). You must prevent your passport before this date to avoid closure of your file due to the expiration of your medical exam results. (Side note.. medicals done in April.. I thought they were good for a year.. hmm.)

Then it states they need an original valid passport for me and every accompanying family member, with at least one blank page in each. It states that once stamped, I can land anytime before my passport expiration date, and if I fail to do so, I will have to basically start all over.

Then the disclaimer that if anything about my status has changed (marital status, children, criminal, etc) I should contact the office immediately for instructions before sending my passport.

There's a spot that asks for photos, but someone wrote "Done" in blue ink here, so I'm not sure what that means.

On the back are the two passport submission options and directions for each.. mailing or showing up in person. It tells you how to mail it in, or what days you can pop into the office in person (Tues/Thurs mornings.) You can't pick up a passport that was mailed in. They aren't liable for lost or stolen passports.

That's it. :)
