Family Class: Discuss Individual Case
hi there, i am less than a month behind you. hope yours is done in quick time. please keep updating. will help me plan my move :)
Took almost 2 weeks to get AOR letter, I'm hoping the application will be transferred to Seattle soon
two weeks in mail! that is slow. as far as i know the application does not have to be transferred out from buffalo. sometimes buffalo approves it by itself.
I guess I'm hoping that, since it seems as Buffalo tends to be slow - and I'm in BC that if it will make it faster - that it will transfer to Seattle. Yeah, I'm finding Canada Post quite slow in general. I will never complain about USPS again...lol
No updates after the AOR? Still in Buffalo?
No updates yet - e-cas still shows "started processing May 1, 2008"
Nothing new there & nothing in the mail yet Hmm. Things have slowed down. No AOR in my case yet. Waiting since May 2nd.
File transferred to Seattle - May 28, 2008 :)
AWESOME!!! As long as they accept your background checks you should be VERY close to a passport request!
Thanks Fretwork - I am hoping it is soon.
My family (and me) are very boring people...lol I also have a very uncommon last name so - I hope background checks will be quick and painless Received the letter telling us about transferring to Seattle on June 9th, 2008 (mail sure is slow at times...) :)
Hi Pendergirlie.
Thanks for the positive vibes. I've been working the numbers on this trackitt to see how long it takes after the file is sent from Buffalo to Seattle. The last Seattle application took 42 days to process from being transferred to receiving the passport request. I am at about 63 days now so I'm guessing that the process is slowing down with summer coming on. I haven't received any correspondence from them at all. Our application was very complete so I cant imagine that they would need to request any more documents. My wife and I are waiting for the "Golden E-mail" from the 'Auto Tracker' letting us know that there has been information added to our 'e-case account tracker' on the CIC website. I'll post the minute the passport request letter arrives. KEEP THE POSITIVE VIBES COMING MY WAY! Thanks!! Hi Girlie. Thanks for the tip. I am tempted to send an email. But I don't want to irritate anyone that may have access to my file. You never know what may happen. As for now, I am going to wait until the 11th of July to send an email to the Seattle Consulate. That gives them 15 more days to to let me know something. PPR or medicals received or whatever. I have it from a reliable source that Canada Immigration usually experiences a seasonal slowdown this time of year. You can be sure that I will post the email response that I get on my Trackitt. Thanks again for the tip.
Hi Girlie. Will you try to get that persons user name for the site that he is on? I'd like to google the name and see what we can find out. Let me know. Thanks
Thanks Girlie! We will never know how and why our applications get speeded up or delayed. I think the best message there is that after things get done, everything moves very quickly. I'll place my hope on that. Thanks. Good vibes going your way! I'll be watching you!!!!
Well Pendergirlie, I couldn't wait any longer. I broke down and sent an email request for case status to the Seattle consulate. Only 10 days short of the 90 days they tell us to wait before contacting them. . They are no doubt busy with 'student visas' so I'll be suprised if they even get to it for a week. Be sure that I will post their comments right here in your comments file.
I haven't ordered CAIPS yet. (Keep in mind that CAIPS takes thirty days to get once you've ordered it) And I haven't heard anything about my medicals yet. I asked about the medicals and asked them to tell me where things are at regarding my application process. I will let you know. (I have a couple of issues that will probably make them want to take a closer look but nothing inadmissable. I just wish it didn't take them so long to get things done.)
Hi Girlie. I know how you must feel. How everyone feels actually. Who knows how strict they are about applying every operational stipulation to every small detail of a persons past. Geez, two speeding tickets within the last 5 years allows them to refuse an applicant. (Not saying that they would.) I have read all of the operational procedures regarding inadmissability. (Several times) It appears to me that I am in good shape on that score. But being 54 years old, I have learned that government agencies are not trustworthy so I won't be at peace with all this until I am landed in Canada.
I am so confused reading all of these post all the time! I never get concerned until I read this website!! Hmmm...maybe I should stop? But addicted..can't.
Anywho...I'm applying from inside Canada, and not really sure of the differences. My e-case status says a decision has been made and I will be contacted. I was contacted with a letter telling me I could apply for a work permit and health card, but they needed information on family from abroad before a final decision could be made. I was told by someone at the call centre that it is a letter saying i've been approved "in principale." I guess what confuses me the most is all the talk about transfers and passport request. I've never been notified of any of this...I have temporary resident status now...but i'm just wondering if i'm missing something! Sorry for the rambling...but i'm a little confuzzled by all this, I suppose!! Yup...thanks lots! :)
Hi Girlie. Well, I didn't get an email today but I received a letter in the mail requesting documents. They want more evidence that my marriage is genuine, ( "evidence of an ongoing relationship" ) and they want the court records for a disturbing the peace charge ( operating a painting business without a license.) that I faced and resolved in 1994. They want to see that the case has been closed and that I met the courts demands. I knew I should have ordered those court records months ago. As it is, I won't be able to submit the documents requested until the 11th of July. I'll be hand carrying thim right to their door.
Hi Girlie. Exactly! Why would I want to go through all of this trouble to move away from the USA to Canada (it gets cold up there!) if I wasn't in love with my wife? I sent plenty of evidence. ( I thought.) Heck, they got pics of our Chrismas. You know, Christmas morning when every one is wandering around the house in their pajamas needing a cup of coffee. Children & grandchildren opening presents. Pics of the wedding. We met on the internet in April of 07. I lived in Boise, Idaho. She is in BC. We supplied them phone records that added up to almost 1,300 hours that we spent talking on the phone before we finally met in person in November of 07. We're in our 50's. We know what love is. I hope immigration does. So we met in 11-07 and I proposed the night I met her and gave her an engagement ring. We were wed on Jan 02, 08. I told Immigration that we were planning a wedding & celebration for family & friends on the 21st of june 08. Now they want evidence of that and anything else that we can provide that proves "an ongoing relationship." By the way, the wedding celebration was great. Very formal. (And expensive.) Lots of pics for immigration. So much fun. A
Actually, we're happy to know someone has actually done something with our file. We will get all of the new 'evidence' in by the 11th of July I hope. Its a small town and she grew up there. Lots of support letters to collect from friends and family who want to give their opinions to Canadian Immigration. Hopefully, you will hear something on your application before I will. So, positive vibes right back at-cha!
I've just about have everything together. The court is going to fax me the court record within the next couple of days. It's 2 states away so that is helpful. We tried to get a joint bank account in BC back in January but the bank told us that I needed a SIN. Not much point in getting a joint account with me still living in the States anyway. Everything will be fine. The phone records alone should be proof of an ongoing relationship. We're on the phone about 3 hours per night and off and on all day on the weekends. We've received about 7 personal references with about 5 or 10 more to come. Its funny. A couple of phone calls by the IO could answer his/her questions. I'm confident that I will be posting PPR soon.
Hi Girlie. Yes. I'm still in the states. Hopefully not too much longer. I am planning to hand carry the documents they requested to the consulate in Seattle on Friday.
Hi Girlie. I finally received the last document that I need to submit the information that CIC has requested. I will be hand carrying them to the Seattle consulate day after tomorrow. (Monday) I guess we'll see how long it takes for Seattle to finish me up and send the PPR.
Hi Girlie! I had to park 3 blocks away. Not too bad though. 5 minute walk. Went into the building, up the escalator, through the glass doors, into the elevator, up to the 6th floor. Lots of people sitting in the consulate lobby. I had to go through the metal detector. My documents wouldn't fit through the slot in the bullet-proof glass so I handed it to the security guard and he handed it through the door to the woman who was working the counter. They were very helpful, courteous...and very busy. When I go to take my passport in for stamping, I will get there about 5 in the morning so I can get in the front of the line.
Thanks for the vibes....Right back atcha!!! which website are you talking about. Are they seattle applicants?
Hi Girlie! Thanks for the site. I sent an email to seattle last tuesday and haven't received a response. The first time I emailed them was just a week before the 90 days was up. They never answered my email but I received a request for more documents 2 days later. They wanted more proof on our "ongoing relationship" and court documents demonstrating that I had complied with the court order to spend 2 days in jail and pay a fine. I sent the court documents and more pictures and letters of reference with regard to the formal wedding ceremony and reception that we had in June 21, 2008. The request specifically called for evidence concerning the wedding which I had told them about on my application. I'm assuming that they wanted to verify that we actually had the cerimony and party. The court case was a summary offence from 1994. No trouble since. When I hand-delivered these "requested documents," the lobby at the consulate in Seattle was packed with people that I assume were there to get some types of visas. I could see that they are very busy down there. Keep in mind that there is probably a lot of study visas being processed at this time of year. It may be that preparation for the 2010 Winter olympics is adding to the workload of the Seattle office as well. Also, IO workers take vacations during the summer and that puts additional stress on the process. They could finish my case in 10 minutes with the way I organized all of the info. I sent. The delay isnt because they intend to refuse either one of us. Otherwise it would be done by now. The delay is because they are busy. How is that for "Positive Vibes?"
Hey there, how are things with your case? Any updates? I hope so!
