Hi crEm

Just curious. Do you live in the US at the time of submitting your PR application? Is it alright to get it processed in Buffalo, US?
I heard it takes forever to process the application in the Philipines.

hi hattori,

yes- I have been residing in US for the last couple of years. i believe you can apply in US once you have stayed at least 1 yr.

yes, the process in the Philippines is outrageously drawn-out: like, 4-5 yrs i've heard.

Hi CrEM,

What did your IA letter says? I am wondering why dont they ask about medical , as well as interview.

Thanks

hello greenlight -

It looked like a generic form that started with 'We have completed an initial assessment of your application...' but proceeded to say we need to submit additional documents. There was a list of documents like police clearnace, bank stuff, etc that I guess they standardly ask for. IN our case, they only asked for a letter of reference from my current employer.

No interview waiver or medical accompanied the mail unfortunately.

Do you think something is amiss?

Thank for your answer, crEm. I am waiting for IA, so I have no experience about that. It might be the case that they will ask you about medical in a few weeks.
Good luck with you on the remaining phases !

greenlight - you too!

Hi crEm,

My letter starts with "We have now completed the initial assessment of your application & expect to finalize without a personal interview". this tells that interview has waived.

As well, its mentioned that no additional doc is required at this time.

I hope this help , All The best !!!

UPDATING DETAILS HERE COZ NOTES DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE

File transferred to Detroit. IA received in a letter dated July 24. Letter of reference from current employer requested, as part of the IA. Requested document sent on July 31. No medical form or interview waived notice came with the IA request. - Received notice that intw waived (August 20) and was requested to perform medical and pay RPRF. Also got a request to send FBI for principal and spouse.

FBI and RPRF was sent on August 23.

Congrats, crEM!

One more thing I would like to mention: CIC also asked us to provide the evidence of the date of taking medical examination. We received the letter after we did medical, so we have to come back to Doctor's office to ask for an acknowledgment letter. So I think you can save ur time by asking Doctor such a letter when you take medical, in case CIC requires it.
