I prepared my self and sent to them. i have applied on nov30, but not got AOR till now. Do you have any idea, how to contact them and findout status?

Hi,
What is there in the IELTS Request letter? Do you like to share it? I had submitted my application also in November..
Posted by razaabbas on 10 Feb 2007
It says that the proof I provided for english proficiency is not enough. So they asked me to take the test within 120 days or else they will base the decision on maybe fewer points. This is so f**king ridiculous but do I have a choice...???? The answer is NO....

I would like to know if i still have to submit an IELTS result although i am from an english speaking country, english is my native language. will they give me the 16 points for it. i have beeing speaking english ever since i can know myself. thanks. NADINE
Posted by razaabbas on 23 Feb 2007
If english is your first language is english and you are from an english speaking country, it is highly likely that will not ask you to submit IELTS.

Raza, Congrats on getting the IA done! This is awesome!! Seems like they have already gotten to the Dec AORs!! WohoooO!! :) When did you receive the letter? Keep us posted with the progress :)

Hi Rasa, congratulations! I believe you break the record - 6 month between AOR and IA. Do you have AEO or sth.?

Hi Abbas,

Its good to hear that the process is going successfuly. My case is somewhat like yours, i applied in July 06 and got my AOR Aug10, 06. I am not sure what is the next step in the process. I submitted all of my documents at the start..(IELTS, proof of funds..), is there any specific document they will be asking me? There have been no correspondance with them since the AOR. Any idea what might be taking it so long?
Posted by razaabbas on 02 Jul 2007
can4me: I think I received the letter on June 18, 2007.

sanf: Thanks and I dont have AE .

Sibte: I have no idea why yours is taking longer. i think you will getting your IA soon. I was kinda surprised to see the IA myself. I am hoping to send them everything by July 20 as my medicals are scheduled to be done on July 17.

Thanks for the reply Abbas. I have few questions to ask and would appreciate your answers. What exactly is an IA? Whats the next step after IA? Where are you from Abbas? I am from KHI.
Posted by razaabbas on 03 Jul 2007
IA is initial assessment. Basically thats when they tell you whether you are required to appear for an interview and do your medicals and send them right of landing fee and stuff. I am in Arizona, US

Hi Abbas,

Thanks for the reply. I din't know that Buffalo was the immigration office for Arizona as well...interesting...so i guess there is not much i can do but to wait. Whats the next step after IA? I am in Halifax CAN
Posted by razaabbas on 16 Jul 2007
Buffalo is the immigration office for the whole US. After IA you do your medicals and submit any other document that CIC requests for.

Hi:

I have a friend who applied for canadian immigration at Islamabad. He just got a letter from the Canadian consulate asking him to submit his police clearance certificate among other documents. My friend has also lived in the USA for a few years. My questions how should he get his police clearance (or maybe fbi clearance) certificate. Please be specific in the steps that he needs to follow? Teh canadian guys want him to submit his documents within two months so how can teh process of obtaining the clearance from the US be expedited.

Thanks.

All I can suggest is to post your question on a canadian immigration forums on the net. I can recommend this one http://www.canada-city.ca/canada-immigration/

Good luck!!!

Hi Abbas,

I was wondering if it would help calling the immigration office to ask about my case. It's been a year now since i heard anything from them. Or do you recommend something else?

Thanks,

razaabbas, you have not taken IELTS? even after they asked you to take it??? how many points you are needed for english proficiency to make the passmark 67? they requested me to take IELTS but I am a bit confused now whether to take it or not? your experience will be useful and suggestions are appreciated, thanks
Posted by razaabbas on 02 Jan 2008
hi orbit, I had 69 points and I did take IELTS with an overall band score of 8. I suggest that u take the test and i think if u get an overall score of 7, they give u full point for all the 4 categories of the language.

hello Raza,
I was wondering why they are taking so long after your medical have you enquired them through email of something... Please update your case have you made some change in your application
Posted by razaabbas on 15 Jan 2008
In oct my wife was asked to repeat the medicals although the doctor told us there was nothing wrong with the initial results, CIC randomly asks people to repeat the tests. So we did that and the doctor mailed the results in 1st week of November. I emailed them about the case about a week ago, which was replied by a generic reply that they are working on the case and I will be notified when the decision is made. So the bottom line is I am still waiting....
