Federal Skilled Workers: Discuss Individual Case
Hi,
A quick question. Did you get your AOR in 15 days ? Thanks, Yes. I got a receipt letter less than 15 days.
Hi,
Does your application is supported with Arranged Employment ? Thanks. I do not have a job offer in Canada. I am a business consultant working in USA on work visa. I sent them all the supporting docs alongwith the 4 aplications and $550 app fee, in a single shot!
Hi,
How did you apply? Through attorney or independent? Have you attached English test results? if not, could you please help me, what to attach with application? Thanks, Satish,
if u r outside USA, I dont have a clue! If u r already in USA & have dun school or working in USA, apply on ur own. Do ur groundwork first............Did u read the instructions for Fed SKilled Worker PR in www.cic.gc.ca ???? I've a MS from USA, and have more than 4 yrs work exp, I wud be upset if CAD IMMIG asks me for IELTS! G luck Hi,
Did you submit your application all at once. I do not have the FBI clearance as yet was wondering if I could send everything else and send that in later on? Thanks Hi,
Thanks for your information. I just want to know, what did you attach to show the english proficiency. Do you have any standard letter format for it? Any document proof. Waiting for your reply. Thanks, Satish I have a MS degree from USA, and I have a good TOEFL as well GRE (verbal) score back in 2000.
My AOR was received on July 06, & I received a letter from CIC in Dec 06 asking me to take English Exam within 120 days, if I wanted 16 points for first language! This was inspite if me sending them a letter of explanation as well as notarized copy of TOEFL & GRE score! Is Canadian Immig totally looney???? I've a MS degree. Y r they asking me to take English exam if I had already taken TOEFL & GRE (back in 2000). Y r they treating me like someone that does not have a college degree from US/Canada! I noticed in immigration.ca forums that since late 2005, they have made IELTS mandatory for all non-native English speakers! Atleast if these CIC folks had mentioned the same in their website cic.gc.ca, I cudda saved myself time and anguish! :( I had a business english certificate(high grades) from the same institution that conducts IELTS . But still they went ahead and asked me to take IELTS. I think its almost mechanical the way they look at cases.
Hi cnstudd and nachi,
It is really annoying, to ask the guy to provide fresh proofs, who had proved his capabilities of English language, already. This is limitation of bureaucracy. They people can't look beyond books. We are at a loss as precious time is wasted for nothing. But hardly we have anything in our hands, if we want to immigrate. So, better act fast and give the IELTS certificate ASAP. Pl don't waste your anger and use it for better prospects. Cool down. hello happy, thanks for ur advice. I had taken my IELTS on Feb07, and got my request for Medicals last week. The only freaking pain in the but is I have to take my FBI check again, cos the one I submitted is more than a year old!
Hello cnstudd.
I have one question for you. You didn't see any detail by E-CAS did you ? Since When? I applied for skilled worker to Buffalo. I've already got the AOR on July 11th '07. However I've never seen any detail by online. Even so your detail has not reflected by E-CAS from the first , your assesment has been processed. I'm very nurvous whether if my assesment process... Until decision made E-CAS shows "IN PROCESS". Never mentions the steps achieved like Initial Assessment done, Medicals, Additional Docs asked-submitted or like that. So don't worry about it. When your assessment is made either they will ask for additional docs(if they require) or sends medicals. Until you receive anything understand that your initial assessment is not done.
Only option to wait. We all have to and I know how painful it is. But you will jump in happiness when you will receive some correspondence. So have patience and try to use your time. enjoying. good Luck Happy & Daishin,
My medicals reached Ottawa on Sep-6th, but still cant pull up my B# in E-CAS. Technically, E-CAS should say 'medicals received'. Most of the folks in this forum /w their file still in Buffalo have replied back with "In Process" status for their B# in E-CAS. Sometimes, the file gets transfered to local office like NYC, sometimes it just stays in Buffalo. Its tricky. Thats y I never sent the RPRF. I'll wait for their request. Anyways, I still have a steady job in the US, on a H1B, so no rush to land in Canada, where getting a hi-tech job is not easy as in the US. I am sure all the H1Bees in the US applied for CAD-PR as a backup. http://www.notcanada.com happy&cnstudd
Thank you for your reply. I'm glad to hear that. I won't mind any in E-CAS states. I would try to have a relax and keep enjoying for my time. hi
I have one question. How to take FBI clearance. I mean what is the process? I am NJ. Thanks in advance Hello cnstudd-
I see that you updated as RPRF not requested yet - Won't CIC ask for RPRF along with medical request. They asked me for RPRF along with my medical request letter - so thought that was normal process. Thanks Glad to hear you got the PPR. Just wondering how you got the detailed information you put in the Notes section. I am stuck with background check AFTER my medicals and don't know how to follow up. Any ideas?
Tiger:
I had USPS tracking info on all the docs that were sent to Buffalo & Ottawa. If u c my profile, Buffalo requested PPR only after 9 months after my medicals were done! So there is absolutely nothing u can do, but forget about it, wait & watch. Tijojose, My friend got a letter for medicals as well as RPRF from NYC Cad-Embassy. Whereas I was asked for RPRF alongwith PPR, on March-19th. Each case is different. G Luck friends. Hi Crusader, I need your expreience about landing and coming back. Could you please give me your email id.. we can talk each other.
hi Crusader, a quick question. for a newly landed immigrant, is application for PR card submitted at the same time when you enter at port of entry or one has to apply himself later on?
Hi TangoCharlie,
For PR card you need not to apply separately. It is done by CIC at the time of landing. They took fresh pictures of all the individuals who land. Approximately in a month time you will receive through post at the address given by you at the time of landing. So no need to bother for PR card. You can use COPR document signed by the officer at the port for your identification along with your passport for all the purposes until you receive the PR card. Every institute accepts it. You need to apply on your own for Social Insurance Number and the process is very simple, easy and short. Only you need to go in person along with COPR and Passport and have to fill the application( they give along with well come kit). They give SIN same time and SIN card will be received in 2 weeks time. Same way you need to apply on your own for health card and for that you need proof of residence to prove that you are currently residing in particular province and need to fill simple application. You are entitle for health coverage after 2 months from your landing date. So you need coverage for that period. You can apply any time when you have residence proof and for that they accept - rental agreement, bank statement etc. I had tried to cover all what you need as a landed immigrant. In case if you need further info, you can ask. Enjoy Happy User "Happy" has covered all aspects of COPR, PR card, SIN card, OHIP card. Good job! :-)
congrats.
I have one question: The visa is valid for oneyear from the date of the medicals or the date the visa stamped? Thanks. openoyster: The Canadian immigrant visa (Single Entry) is valid for one year from the date of the medicals. G Luck all.
