We got our 90 day letter!! Have you got yours? If not, it must be on it's way, brace yourself!! :-) AmandaUK hi amanda!
YES!!!! i turn my back for a moment (i.e. we've been away for a few days) and here it is! busy busy busy now eh?! i'm now scrutinising the letter to see what we do and don't need to do. they don't mention the need to get things notarized so i'll have another look on the website but it'd be great if we can avoid having to do that. enjoy the form filling frenzy! Natasha Hi jonathan,
We applied around the same time as you, AOR date 1st Nov 2005, but we have not received any further correspondence from London. We are in the UK moving to Calgary. We sent in all the original forms in 2005, plus notarised Certificates, Qualifications, plus job references and photos (although our daughters are now 4 and 6 so look a little different now!). The only thing we did not send was Police checks and proof of funds. What does this 90 day letter mean/ask for? Are we missing out on something? Regards pault I am soooooooo happy you got yours now too!!! Yeh, slightly panicking about the form filling and ensuring we send off everything correctly, etc. Still, it's positive panic, eh?!
:-) AmandaUK hi Paul,
there are other people aound that same time who have not received the 'update' letter yet. basically it is an automatic letter being sent to all skilled worker applicants who submitted an application in november or december 2005. the date on the letter was 21st jan but we didnt get it till 11 feb. it says that they anticipate processing these applications in 3-5 months and asks you to send in updated information / changes from when you filled the forms in 2005. i'm sure you'll get it in the next week, if the wait gets too much i'd e mail them if it doesnt arrive. i doubt that the police checks / proof of funds would have caused a problem because one of the things they ask for in the letter is new police checks and updated proof of funds. might be an idea to get the police checks done now as thay take a while. we too are in the uk and we'll be moving to vancouver. good luck with everything! Natasha (jonathan's wife) Hi Natasha,
Thanks for responding and supplying the info. Our complication is we applied, on the recommendation of a friend who used them to migrate to Vancouver, via an Attorney in Montreal by the name of David Cohen. He is well known and prominent (luckily not infamous!) in this field. After reading a lot of the messages on this site I wonder whether we made the right decision. After you both received your letter the other week, I e-mailed them to say had they heard anything and they said do not expect to hear anything until November this year. They did not know why others had heard earlier!! I might leave it another couple of weeks and re-contact them, but in the meantime update everything ready for the call-up. Thanks for your kind wishes, I will let you know how we get on. pault Hi Natasha/Jonathan
You were speedy, getting your docs off! We're still waiting for Police Certs. Just wanted to ask you - and anyone else who recently sent off their updated docs - what you got notarised or certified this time around? We'll have financial docs to send and I'm not sure which we do, if either. I'd be grateful to hear back when you have a mo. Also (and I have a feeling I may have asked this before), is the next step the Initial Assessment, as in they work out your points? And if the points are acceptable, do they not necessarily interview you? What do you imagine is your timescale as far as the process is concerned? Soooo many questions!!! ;) AmandaUK hi amanda,
we took a gamble and sent off for our police certs before christmas in the hope the update letter would arrive soon, so when it did, we already had them. that saved a bit more waiting. we didn't get anything notarised this time. after much searching / scrutinising the wording of their forms i noticed that the current 'checklist' (on CHC website) simply says 'do not send originals' (apart from the police checks). when i printed off the checklist in 2005 it said 'send notarized photocopies of all documents' but that has been omitted from the recent one. i don't really know if we've done the right thing but i figured that if they were that bothered about it they would have made that clear on the update letter too. yes, i believe that the Initial Assessment is the next thing. from what i've seen they don't interview everyone. i just don't know what to think about the timescale. i originally thought we'd be all completed by october 2008 but the more cases i look at the more i think that's being unrealistic. i don't know, i'm getting a bit fed up of it all now, i wish they'd hurry up! hope your police checks come very soon! natasha Thanks Natasha.
Good thinking re: Police Certs. By the time we thought of doing that, we'd got our 90 day letter! I'm heading over to Canada this week for a couple of weeks - it was minus 25 last week where we'll be! Bought some thermals today! Take care AmandaUK Could you email me direct (amanda_robertson@btinternet.com) - I have a radio transcript about the Immigration process and backlog that you may find encouraging!
:-) AmandaUK congrats to you! we shouldn't be far behind then. our aor is nov 16th. all looking a bit real now!! fantastic. best of luck.
Ohhhh my goodness Natasha! That's great news! Gosh, I daren't imagine ours can be as soon, we were much later submitting our updated docs ...
Gosh if we get our med req soon, I'll be crazy with excitement!! Well done and good luck with the meds. Let me know how it goes (and if there's anything you think we should know!) Take care AmandaUK Hi Natasha
I just spotted in the Forum that a couple of folk are saying it took 3 - 4 months after the medical for the decision to be made! I'm wondering if our plans to go during summer may be a little ambitious after all ... What do you think? AmandaUK hiya,
i guess there will always be some cases that are more complex than others, or for whatever reason take longer than others. look at thewaitinggame and adele they got their visas around 6 weeks after medicals. ajirm got passport request 1 month after medical. i'm still hopefull we'll be completed by the end of the summer. natasha Congrats!
How did it go? Can you PM me? Do you have to call them in a couple of weeks for the results? AmandaUK We had an e mail from chc today saying that they sent the passport request letter to us yesterday.
natasha Good Luck We are on the same boat, medicals done 3rd June.
May Woohoo 4 u!!!
:-) Think ours are going to be delayed - they lost our (Recorded Delivery) children's birth certificates and I think it may set us back 3-4 weeks. :-( AmandaUK Congratulations!!!!
:-) AmandaUK well done. all good things.... very pleased for you. best of luck
Congratulations, that is excellent news, and a few months before the 36 month timescale they originally gave you. I bet you are now in a tissy over what to do next now!! Best of luck to you both and I hope everything works out how you have planned it. Pault
congrats!!!
We wish you lots of success in you new life. Hope all the trackitt hopefuls get the good news very very soon. Good Luck Candream Congratulations
Pray for us still waiting Nice...congratulations.
Ray Thank you all for your Congrats! We embark on our new life in Vancouver on August 14th, soooo excited! - Good luck to you too.
