I have spoken with Senata Chambliss's office people and Isakson's office people(two senators from georgia). They responded promptly and showed their interest on the issue and said that depends on the number of people who are effecting on this issue ,they escalate the issue. So friends please give a call, who ever applied to ATL center,
to the following numbers and also send email/fax. Please explain the whole situation and mention that for no reason we may loose this opertunity just because of living in this ATL region. If every body call/email/fax to the senators then defenitely they will look into the issue and can expedite the process. So guys please do it.

Heres the information:

1) Senator Saxby Chambliss
Adress:100 Galleria Parkway
Suite 1340
Atlanta, GA 30339
Main: 770-763-9090
Fax: 770-226-8633
email: saxby_chambliss@chambliss.senate.gov

2) Senator Johny Isakson
Address:One Overton Park
3625 Cumberland Boulevard
Suite 970
Atlanta, GA 30339
Main:(770) 661-0999
Fax: (770) 661-0768

Good job vdlrao ! I'll send e-mails rightaway and call them on Monday.

A get well card to ATL center :)) really funny and thought provoking :)

While we keep our fingers crossed on the Visa Bulletin issue, let's not stop our efforts in persuading ATL center for faster processing.

Let's hope that things will fall in place soon

I think we should follow vdlrao's advice and call the Georgia Senator's office and see if we can persuade them to speak to the Atlanta PERM center. But it is VERY important that you speak to the 2 senators from your state as they are responsible for you as you reside in their constituency. They have more reason to attend to your issue than 2 senators from GA who cater to the GA population. But it will never hurt calling the GA senators too in addition to your state senators. Lets start the campaign on Monday to call the senators office in addition to continuing our campaign to call the ATL PERM center & Washington DOL office. Please keep up the efforts as we have a window of opportunity due to the rumours about the visa bulletin. Remember, once the dates turn "U" (Unavailable) next week, we will be waiting for years to come for anything to happen. Please call/email next week without fail.

I guess most people cannot get in today. Most people book marked http://www.trackitt.com/ not http://208.109.248.49/, and therefore they get a 404 error. For some reason, the dormain name has been changed.

I called senator Saxby Chambliss' s office. They told me that they would not respond to my inquiry since I am not from their state.!!
I think all this effort is futile. Don't waste your time and just wait patiently..

Call your State senator. It is NOT a futile effort. Unless you keep trying it, its not going to happen. If you don't want to do anything, so be it, but please do not advise others to not waste their time. It is not a waste of time. We are trying our best to use all means & resources to achieve some positive results. So be more optimistic and help us. See my pervious post about this.

Pl. Call Kerri or Leslie (both are not in office today though) in the Immigration division of Senator Chambliss' office at 1-800-234-4208. They will assit even if you do not live in the senators constituency - you have to sign a privacy release though before they can help.

You can have them fax the privacy release form to you today. Pl. be sure to emphasize the disparity between Atlanta & Chicago ctrs and how, as a result, the immigration process favors those living in the west coast . . . . etc.

UPDATE ON JULY VISA AVAILABILITY

The sudden backlog reduction efforts by Citizenship and Immigration Services
Offices during the past month have resulted in the use of almost 60,000
Employment numbers. As a result of this unexpected action it has been
necessary to make immediate adjustments to several previously announced cut-
off dates. All Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices have been
notified of the following:

Effective Monday July 2, 2007 there will be no further authorizations
inresponse to requests for Employment-based preference cases. All numbers
available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation

have been made available. Employment preference numbers will once again be
available to these chargeability areas beginning October 1, 2007, under the
FY-2008 annual numerical limitation.

You can also call/email Citizenship & Immigration Services Ombudsman re. the issue because the delay is depriving you the opportunity to file the I-140/I-485 whereas those who went through Chicago can process the next steps this month.

Sounds like good to me, if I understand correctly. However, this paragraph read contradiction. If it read

"All numbers available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation have been made UNAVAILABLE. Employment preference numbers will once again be available to these chargeability areas beginning October 1, 2007, under the FY-2008 annual numerical limitation. ",

that make more sense to me. However, this will turn it a bad news and lawsuit will follow. What a chaotic moment!

As far as I understand:

Really bad news for all our other friends who were ready to file.

IF numbers are going to be available in october, then it might be a good news for people like us stuck in Atlanta, as it would give 3 more months of buffer.

If numbers are not going to be available in october too, then it is bad news for everyone.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by random (14) 02 Jul 2007
i am pretty sure numbers will be available in october but it will not be C (basically not for everyone) so there would still be retrogression

Yep. In case numbers are available in October, we definitely don't want to miss it.

I believe, USCIS will go back to keeping priority dates now, if they have learnt any lessons from this fiasco (though I think this was a deliberate move by DOL in light of the CIR bill). So, I do not expect dates to get current in October. The visa numbers have been exhausted by those who filed when the dates advanced to 2003 for EB3 and 2004 for EB2 in the June bulletin.

The good thing for some with approved 140s, is that you can now avail of 3 year H1b extensions (instead of 1 if the dates were current).

yeah Folks,
The news is both good & bad ... but the timing wise all people stuck in Atlanta will be blessed. (ONE & ONLY IF )

1. We step up our efforts and get the system to move faster and clear the backlogs before another 1 month or 45 days.

So lets all continue with our efforts ... I have sent a email today morning as like any other day ... pls do the same ... infact we are seeing some approvals for today for Month of March , which is a good sign ...but lets not relax ... its a good time to act wisely and see us through this situation.. pls contribute with emails and lets use this oppurtunity better...
(reply) (report this)
Posted by kittyz (12) 02 Jul 2007
My attitude twoards the news is neutral because we will never know what will happen next. My guess is that the numbers will not be current for Oct (i.e. there will still be a cut off date for the retrogression). I hope I would be wrong and everyone will be able to file I-485 in October.

From another perspective, this news means that we will have to wait in a line now. People with PDs after us but approvals before us (like those who filed in Chicago and those who just did NIW) would have to wait behind us (assuming we all get our approvals eventually). More sense of fairness? (just relatively, i mean)

Here is some interpretation on I-485 thread

Posted by luish73 17 minutes ago

What I understand is that all EB categories became U (unavailable). This means that in the next two bulletins (august and september) all categories in the Visa bulletin will show U and then in the October, 2007 bulletin(when more visa numbers are released:140,000 with existing laws), we will see the new priority dates based in the new offer and demand estimations. No more green cards will be adjudicated from here to the end of september, 2007. The USCIS should accept all applications sent based on the initial July bulletin. Today's bulkletin should be equivalent to an August bulletin showing U in all employment based categories. I just hope the dates don't retrogress to May, 2007 levels

Guys,
My post is not for people who doesn't want to come out of the GC mania ... This is for people who think practically and want some moral support to come out of the GC troubles ..

I've been in this country for more than 8 years without GC ... my fate never favored me in GC process .. and currently i got stuck in Atlanta PERM since 04-04-07... I've been following these discussion forums for long time and got enough skills to predict how USCIS works ..

I've been telling my friends who got stuck with GC, that GC is not every thing in life.. it's just a convenience ... it might boost your confidence little bit .. but surly, it's not that you can't live without it ... I know many of us got depressed and got a habbit of thinking too much of it .. and tied all their future plans (most important plans, like buying a house .. having kids etc) with GC .. Friends, please try to comeout of this mania ... you or your lawyer or a senator can not change the immigration laws .. immigraions laws are broken in this country .. nobody is daring to repire them ...
Most of us are having a decent job and making decent money .. Enjoy life, save some money and go back to your country. I assume most of us in this group are asians .. guys, Asia is shining .. and the economy booming ... getting good salaries there also ... why to beg for GC ??? give a damn to DOL and USCIS ...

coming to current EB situation, My best guess is, YES, it will surely retrogress for india, china, phil ..will go back to early 2003 if not late 2002 (EB3, and EB2 with 1 yr difference). So, plan accordingly, and adjust your mindset to that .. and avoid last min. disappointment by seeing the OCT'07 bulletin.

I hope, mean while atlanta perm will pick up its pace and compete with chicago.

For all the folks who filed in 2007 and are worried that people filing from chicago would get ahead of you in the line, spare a thought for those who filed via regular Labor before March 2005, and are still awating their labors to be approved from the BRC's. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute.

Of course, for those people whose applications are still at pending at BEC, it could be even much more unfair for them if people who filed in Chicago could get their PERMs done in two days and still file I-485 this month. I am not saying we should get ahead of those people stuck at BEC. I am just saying it is actually a bit fair for us all now. Because we all have to wait in a line according to our PD.

Actually, if we get our PERM in July we still be able to file our I-140 at discounted price. That seems the point now.

I don't think that the price will remain the same.they were talking about starting from july the price will change . so I don't think thats a good idea to go in summer vacation . we all better stay here so far and try to do something to solve the problem.

Common people, stop worrying about the changes to the visa bulletin. Worry about your labor application for now. Do whatever it takes to get your labor application approved for now. Please continue calling the DOL office in Atlanta, Washington and also your senators. Unless we push, nothing is going to happen. Due to our efforts, they had started processing applications a very slow pace, but now it looks like they have slowed down or stopped it. We need to continue to calling/emailing/faxing until they start processing applications and clear the backlogs. We have a golden opportunity until October to have our labors approved. If we sit and wait, we will once again miss the boat. So please start calling & emailing the concerned officials atleast once or twice a week religiously.

I got a response of my email sent to atlanta PERM center 2 weeks ago. I think maybe I write in a tone that's more official and sounds like employer, they will response to me and they did. The response is the same as what many laywers get from the PERM center. Frankly, with the PD as U, I don't really have much incentives to push them as I see the trend during the last four months is moving forward (average 112 in April, 141 days in May, this is the worse, 122 days in June and 106 days in July, apparently, they are catching up, and it looks like in around Sep, even those who filed in June will be approved) and I'm pretty sure it will be solved within the next two months and we shouuld be ready to file 140 for Oct 07. I don't believe the PD for Oct 07 will be C though.

Thank you for your e-mail to the National Processing Center concerning your case filed under the PERM program.

It seems they finally opened the box of March files. However, they probably will just pick up one randomly from the box and start to process. So everyone filed in March has a good chance now. The first-in-first-out rule is counted by month.
