Topic: Whats wrong with ATL PERM Center
Please post the fax numbers again.... I try to fax a message to them ... thanks.
Actually, a month back I contacted one of the core member of IV, and they told me that IV efforts are more towards the 485 issues and that people stuck at Atlanta should contact their law makers.
I'm definitely in for the flower campaign, but before that lets do another round of fax/email campaign.
what is the fax number to send the letter - i am willing to participate in any form of campaign -
e-mails/flowers. I have been waiting for this GC since last 6 years - this is my second LC.
thanks
As somebody pointed out there are no approvals in either ATL or chicago ..Chicago is close enough with 6/30 dates and ATL is with march end... so might be they can plan together to approve by sharing applications and finish of all the 3 months lag by a month time with a coordinated action... so the disparity between the centers can be sorted out ... i am just speculating and like to see this come good .... I am thinking the silence for the 2 days means somehting ... is its for good or bad not sure ....
any body has any update or latest news on these lines....
any approvals yesterday/today???????????
Hi pcsankar73 (26) ,
where you get the news? Do you have a link?
Guys,
Lets get into action for the fax campaign first. Can someone post the fax number of the Atlanta centre and DOL, washington. We need to send faxes to both the places.
Just got a mail from ATL for a general enquiry on their current processing & ETA ..
Thank you for your e-mail to the Atlanta National Processing Center concerning your case filed under the PERM program. Our office can only respond to inquiries from the employer's contact person or attorney/agent listed on the submitted 9089 form.
Atlanta Help Desk # 10..
Nothing much ... nowadays i dont thnik they are even reading a message and replying .... just pasting a message for all emails ....
this was a something i heard from my employer a month back as they can plan a solution like this ...this my employer told me after a discussion with one of the reputed lawyers ...but he didnot tell me that it was on the cards but was a bullet during his discussion with the attorney .... so i am speculating now that this can be implemented .... JUST A SPECULATION....
pcsankar
Can you please elaborate on what 'solution' you are referring to
Sharing the applications between the centers and approving them is the solution i am talking about...thatway both center's disparity can be sorted out and no backlog for any particular center .... This was somehting i was told by my employer a month back on a discussion with one of the reputed lawyers ... but my employer did not tell that this solution will be implemented ...but might come up...
since now i am seeing no approvals from both the centers , i am guessing (WILD imagination) as this might be a coordinated action between the centers to analyze & sort out / strategies some good solution.... THIS AS A SPECULATION FROM ME .... i am just trying to put 2 & 2 together to see what i get ...
Fax no for Atlanta Centre.....404-893-4642..I have just sent an fax requesting to process my application ASAP...Lucky if it works...I am Plannig to send the fax Daily
What do you guys say....

Guys !!! One Question.
I am hearing from my fellow friends that , AUG 17 is the extension for July Filers. and it does mean for only people whoever is getting approved until July 31st can apply .... Is this true ..then we have only 13 days left to get a approval...
Pls confirm that what i heard is not true .... .. I can not take any more bad news like this !!! Pls clarify with any good source before confirming the same ... i am trying for a answer now with my best sources...
pcsankar...relax
the USCIS press release says "priority dates qualifying for July". Since we all have priority dates before that, we are fine.
One cannot, for example, apply on aug 5, get approved on aug 10 (though it would never happen in atlanta ;) ) and then file by aug 17, since his PD will be august.
IT IS TRUE.
They opened only for people who were, earlier, eligible to file in Jul. So assuming that Jul 2 notice had never come out, whose ever's app showed "Certified" by july 28 (practically) could have sent it in by jul 31.
So, given the fact that they rolled-back Jul 2 notice, Jun 12 notice stands. Its just that now because we have till Aug 17 to make our packets to USICIS, even if we see "CERTIFIED" by/on JUL 31, we are good.
AUG 1 date on certified = screwed already.
I wish what you say is True ... if you see the bullitein AUG its "U" . and JULY its "C" ... So no AUG dates can apply and USICS has mentioned JULY QUALIFIERS as you mentioned ..which means JULY approvals ...
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10441
Pls follow the above thread for some details ...
i emailed at above mentioned emails.. when to send flowers?
june22perm,
WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that,
beginning immediately, it will accept employment-based applications to adjust status (Form I-
485) filed by aliens whose priority dates are current under the July Visa Bulletin, No. 107.
USCIS will accept applications filed not later than August 17, 2007.
"PD CURRENT under july bulletin"
So you mean, if someone filed on jul 31 got approval on aug 12, if can make his/her 140/485 packet delivered to USCIS on/by aug 17, he is fine???

**************** This is what I copied from USCIS press release. It mentions about PD and not approval date
Well, I guess so. I'm not an attorney. Any official information would be helpful...If anyone of you have answers from your attorney, please post it here.
there is a CONSISTANT CONFUSION regarding "ON OR BEFORE JULY 31 PD, approved before jul 31 can file by aug 17" compared to "WHENEVER FILED (even e.g. aug 3), approved by aug 17" are ok as well?
Onother good catch ..when DOS/USICS announces the dates , its only with PRIORITY DATES ...ALL OUR PRIORITY DATES ARE OLDER THAN JULY... we should all be good even if we can get approval by AUG 15th and send it before AUG 17th... this is something struck me now ... But better i will get a clarification from my Attorney too...
YOU ARE RIGHT June22.
I know June22. I am not an attorney either.
"aliens whose priority dates are current under the July Visa Bulletin, No. 107. USCIS will accept applications filed not later than August 17, 2007. "
it does mean, as long as we can get the approvals on/by aug 16, keep files and packets ready, see online approval by aug 16 send packets for next day delivery. if no LC approval online by aug 16, tear the packet and throw it away.
I will confirm with my attorney too.
but again, DOL - ATL should be helpful.
Have you guys already done with medical test. What medical test i need. I just talked to one doctor she gave me a quote of 180$ for physical and blood test. please help!
Most of the attorney are b....... shit. They just need money. Don’t care about your case. I spoke several times to my attorney and requested to contact Atlanta centre but he didn’t.
And Consulting Comapnies also. Thats why the Immigration system for employment based category is screwd up(wainting long years for green card). We are the most eligible, highly qualified and highly skilled workers. And still struggling hard to get our GCs!
My attorney filed my PERM on July 10th at Atlanta center. She said that if mine is approved right away, we can file I 140 and 485. When I asked her howlong it takes, this is what she said.
"You are right, Chicago is slightly faster. I have received approvals
from Chicago in as fast as 3 days! I am hoping that it will be approved
in the next 1-2 weeks so that we can proceed. However, they do
advertise 6-8 weeks in order to protect themselves. I will keep you
updated. Have a great day!"
Do you think, it is anyway possible to get approval from Atlanta in 1 to 2 weeks? What did she mean by 6-8 weeks advertising period? Can someone explain please?
Thanks
Windy,
I got a similar mail from my attorney. That's what the DOL advertises, 45-90 days response time for PERM applications.
Thanks!
When is the Flower Campaign?
When is the Flower Campaign? The sooner the better!
Every day should be Flower Campaign. We should send Flowers every day. Lets do 20 people every day.
Let's order the flowers today...friday/ monday delivery...any later won't help much
Sounds good. Every Day until Aug 5th !
Guys,
I think we should all request ATL PERM processing center to provide some way to track our cases just like current RIR labor tracking system. SO that we know the real situation and we dont have to depend on employers or attorneys for our PERM case status.
Lets add the request for a PERM tracking system to our Agenda.
Windy,

Thanks!
Are you saying that DOL will advertise? Where do they advertise? I thought, our employer/attorney will advertise before filing. That is all done for me. I am a little lost here.
YES I AGREE. The governing factor here is the Priority Date, and as long as the Priority date is before July 31, we are good to apply before August 17. The approval date is irrelevent.
I am not an attorney either, but, its a common sense and hope that it holds true.

Sorry to get you into confusion by the verb 'advertise'. I meant DOL generally 'says' in their websites/literature that it takes 45-90 days to get a response.
Guys,
we have a total of 15 people and this is a good number for the flower campaign to ATL proseccing center. Let's order flowers for 07/23/2007(Monday) delivery.
Let's add the following notes(Feel free to modify and comeup with one final text)
"Thank you for beginning to process the PERM applications!
Legal&Tax paying immigrants now have a August 17,2007 deadline to make into the final stages of Green Card processing, which we all are waiting for 7-10 years. Please expedite the LC process and we all will be Thankful to your efforts for our lifetime."

We have to do the flower campaign atleast a week. Then only it will show up some significance.
I guess the To address should have a name on it...may be the director or someone. Without that, it would just end up in the mail room
spd123,
My thinking is its better to mention about the I-485 current status in the text message. And let them know if we miss this bus it needs to wait few more years. And may loose this chance just for staying in this Atlanta region and which is totally unfair.
Sure we can mention that but I didn't think the people in DOL will/should know what an I-140 or I-485 are. I thought simple & plain text without any terminologies will be more effective.
