it looks like with Sep 1 st all the priorities will go back drastically. assuming that Atlanta is still on processing cases in FEB (Just started with PERM cases as we all read from sources) and it would take miminum 2 months to get to March dates , then all filed during march onwards will be in soup... I asked my lawyer to call them and speak to Atlanta and see what can be done ..as he asked me not to contact directly ... also i have a question , is there a chance to file another application in chicago center with the current processing in Atlanta ... i would like to know whether this is a possibility... anybody pls reply ...

Hello,

My EB2 PERM application is pending in Chicago Center since 24 Apr 2007, almost for 55 days. I have heard Chicago is fast, but mine is still pending. I have a MS from USA & 3 yrs IT exp. My employer is a large IT consulting co based in NYC, and my work state is NH.

If u go to the CHicago Trackitt forum, every single case was certified within 30 days or so except for 5 cases (inclding mine)

I am going to ask the lawyer for a receipt number, but I dont know if American lawyers will give their login & passwd for the PERM system.

Everyone believes the priority dates will remain current till end of September 2007 (like in 2005), cos thats the end of the fiscal year.

It is NYC it will go to ATLANTA not CHicago

how about florida? n trend of clearing backlog in atlanta?

cnstudd,
If its NY I believe it should go to Atlanta. You might want to check with your lawyer. Maybe its at the wrong center hence the delay in your case decision.

Hello 'dream' ,

(1) How does one determine whether the PERM gets processed in Chicago or Atlanta?
(2) Does it depend on the Employer state or Employee State especially in case of consultants

Thanks.

Konda,
In the same page that say no application was prepared there should be a text box that you can type the case number and search.

My labor was filed on Feb 5th. Per my attroney, it is in process. He has filed for an inquiry but has not heard anything yet. This is frustrating. I guess we need to keep calling them and send an email until they act on it..

Hello everybody.

I'm another desperate soul waiting for PERM approval from Atlanta center. I'm already 153 days waiting and I;m going crazy. I need to understand, and sorry for my ignorance, what is going to happen in July that everybody is talking about. Is there a deadline for something?

I thank you in advance for your explanations.

Regards to all and good luck

I must agree that the Atlanta's situation before Chicago is ridiculous. I saw quite a few of less than a week approvals of any type of case such as EB3, EB2 MS, EB2 BS+5.
Something should be done to expedite Atlanta's processing times.

There is no point whining and griping here on the forums unless we act and do something about it. We need to contact PERM Center and also have our attorney contact DOL to enquire and request them to expedite the processing. DOL or PERM personnel do not come and read these forums to understand our pain. We need to reach out to them and express our frustration due to delays. Also, we need to have our attorney's contact AILA and have AILA take up this issue with DOL. People please contact your attorneys and have them puruse our issue through AILA. We need to seek help for ourselves. No one is going to come and offer us any help. Its all in our hands. So please do all that you can within your means. Please, Please, Please start contacting PERM Center, DOL, Attorney and employers to plead our case. We have very limited time...

As you may see in my profile I am from the time of the old RIR labor that got stuck for 3 years despite all the letters, faxes and emails. Nevertheless, I think the major point to make out to them is about equal treatment and opportunity. If I lived in a state covered by Chicago center I'd probably have my labor approved by now. As far as I know annual quota for green cards are given on a first come first serve basis consequently I'll be penalized if Immigration runs out of GC's over Chicago's approvals just because I don't live and/or work in one of Chicago's jurisdictions. My suggestion to them is to establish just a single queue for all applicants regardless of their residence state.

bloodygc, you are right. It should not depend on the geographic location and everyone should have equal priority. I applied my labor in Feb 2007, and a friend of mine applied from Chicago in April and he got the approval. He is eligible for utlising July oppurtunity where as I am not....

Is there any movement in processing in Atlanta center for today . are we seeing any approvals from the list ... I am wondering on what order the cases are considered .. few getting approved at later dates and few from before dates....

i have a feeling that a case when gets assigned to a person and if the person is moved to do other job , then the case is not deligated and stands under his name until he has to re-open the same ... i belive this is the only logical reason , i can see for many of us not getting approved whereas other cases above and below randomly getting moved...
i dont know this is a right system to make sure FIFO for priorities... I am getting frustrated ... anybody know more on how they get processed .. welcome to comment...

Hi All,
My case was filed on March. Me too frustrated badly. I did call their number and left a msg requesting to speedup the process also I've emailed them on the same. My employer as well as my lawyer will not give me the login id and password to check the status. Is there any way I can track the status of my PERM application.

Thanks

My employer inquired yesterday about my PERM case, and heard back today from the Atlanta Center which indicated that my petition is still being processed. There is a common belief in the forum that there is a relationship between an inquiry about a case and a closely following approval. I will let you know if this is true for me.

Also, I called a couple of times and sent emails to 'Perm.DFLC@dol.gov' as well. I did not mention my case#, and did not expect and reply.

Not what I know of. You might want to ask your employer to inquire about the case. Atlanta Center is pretty good in responding to inquiries, next BD. Also, your employer and attorney will receive and email notifying them about the approval. I do not see a necessity for us checking to see if our case was approved.

By what means did your employer contact Atlanta center, email, call or fax?
How did they reply back to your employer, by email, call back or fax?
Did you have a particular person to contact with? Can you share it?
When was your PERM filed? thanks

My lawyer emailed to PERM.DFLC@dol.gov last Friday and have not heard anything back yet.

So guys I called Elaine Chao and some other person, I got a call back from Melaney Baker who asked me to call 202-693-3010 and apparently I did that all day yesterday and I was told the woman I have to speak to is on vacation for a week. I called back today and they have an automated message over there. Also for Elaine Chao I was asked to send a fax.

good job. I did also call Elaine Chao and fax them. No response yet. But I will follow you to call 202-693-3010. It is so unfair to treat us so differently with chicago center.

I just call them by 202-693-3010. One lady picked up the phone. Then I told the situation in Atlanta. She seems not quite familiar with the perm application and gave me the excuse that different locations could be different time frames. I responed that there are only two centers and we pay the same money but with so different treatment. Then she friendly connect the phone to somebody's voice machine. I left the message.

Guys,

I just left a message for a lady at 202-693-3010, told her that I was a part of a large forum and that we all are extremely concerned about the pace of the Atlanta center. I asked her to call me back to let me know if she has any timelines or updates on how these cases are being processed. I would reccomend EVERYONE to call this number and ask for someone whom you can talk to about the Atlanta Perm center & leave voice mails with your case #. Also please mention that you are a part of a large forum where hunderes and thousands of us are concerned with the pace of the Atlanta Center.

If I or anyone else hears back, please post ASAP.

Thanks

Great. I am very impressed with the members for contacting Elaine Cho's office. I did the same too and will fax a letter explaining the situation and requesting them to process PERM applications at the Atlanta Center very soon. I request everyone to please contact the PERM contact person when he/she returns on Monday. If anyone can get that person's name, phone number & fax number it will be great. We can then call that person directly and plead our case. Please everyone contact the 202 number and leave a message of the feedback you received on this thread. Don't wait for someone else to do it for you. if you don't act now, we all would be losers and miss the PD's..so don't be shy..PLease call and fax today and also next week.
