Topic: Whats wrong with ATL PERM Center
Congrats gcindia76!
Can you please update the Trackitt system too...I aprreciate it.
|
What did u fax her? Can you the content of your letter? - thx
|
They have slowed down. I see only 2 approvals. DOL wake up...........
|
If you see just 2 approvals today that may not mean they slow down. Theres a pretty possibility people who are not listed here got more approvals today. i hope we may see the impact of expedite processing from next monday onwards.
|
I am talking about trackitt only. I don't know how many people got approved outside trackitt. From the data that we see.....it looks like they have slowed down
|
mobile2007,,,
did you contact to atlanta centre.
your case is very old. i mean early march.....
|
I did. Got the same old Bull crap response from them. I am just hoping to get certified soon.

Draft letter of Zoe:
Dear Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren California, 16th District
First, we would like to salute you for your hard work and for picking up cause of millions of hard working legal immigrants in addressing and fixing July visa bulletin fiasco.
Madam you generate lot of hope for us, legal hardworking immigrants, and I am writing to you with the same hope, trusting you that you will bring relief to us too.
Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of US and Author of the Declaration of Independence, said: "Equal right for all, special privileges for none" but what we are seeing is in direct contradiction of this very fundamental principal of US Constitution. Special privileges are being given to the persons living in one part of the country. As a guardian of constitution and Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Citizenship, Refugees, Immigration, and Border Security, we have no one but you to request to help us.
I would like to draw your attention towards disparity of processing between Atlanta and Chicago in processing PERM application. My facts are based on data collected from a website where potential immigrant volunteers to provide information to track their status during the various stages of immigration process. This is not an official data and might have some margin of error but still it shows great deal of differentiation in working of both of these centers.
Please click on this link and navigate to Atlanta Perm Tracker and Chicago Perm Tracker and you can see the difference in processing time yourself:
http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/
With the Visa bulletin becoming current again, this disparity is hurting millions of us living on the East Cost. Applicants living on the West cost are getting approved in 3-4 days and getting a chance to move ahead in the immigration process, while we at the East cost still waiting for months for our PERM getting approved. Huge difference in approval timing between these two centers is creating an environment of unequal opportunities, which founding father of this nation never tolerated.
I, therefore urge you to please look into this matter and seek truth behind this disparity. Why Atlanta is processing application at a slower rate? Is there a possibility that Atlanta can share work with Chicago so that a uniform turnaround time would be maintained over whole nation? These are some of the questions we have in our mind and we are desperately searching for answers.
We hope that you will fight for our cause with the same zeal and enthusiasm as you showed during July visa bulletin fiasco. We need your help and we trust you…..
Thanks

It seems we can catch up the Congresswoman Zoe Loafgren attention on this issue through www.immigrationvoice.org more effectively so that it can be resolved. So who is the better person at immigrationvoice.org to contact about this issue.
|
I emailed to all the key people in the www.immigrationvoice.org and let them know about this issue. Let me see their responce.
|
I also emailed to Mrs Murthy at law@murthy.com.
|
Any body else left in the row to email?

Hi,
I'm a silent observer of this forum. Today I created account and send flowers to Atlanta center. Let us keep trying till we achieve.
|
spd123, Thank you. I'm glad that you understand. Some others in this thread are very RUDE for no apparent reason!
MYGC2007,
Your copy'n' paste of deba's message may have caught dsikka's attention. It kind of echoed the same for me too... later I realized you were opposing deba's message. I'm sure it's a misunderstanding.
Cheers!
|
Guys,
please concentrate your effort on what you can do....I don't believe IV can help you on this. They are now on bigger goals which I think make sense. We are minority among minority and we have to stand on our own...SO I URGE YOU SEND THE ABOVE LETTER TO THE CONGRESSWOMAN....Let's do it on our own...we can do..we will do it...SEND LETTER..PLEASE....She is the one who picked up the issue...I am in for flower campaign though ( I suggested it way back but nobody took note of that...well now at least some of you pick up on it..)
|
GreeMe,
See my post about this problem in IV. Only three people responded while core group ignored it....
|
Hello Waiting2007,
ImmigrationVoice Core will not help us till the time we join in big numbers and discuss this topic. I was in the discussion thread on IV where people were thinking of sending flowers to USCIS. IV never told anyone to send flowers till people began sending flowers in big numbers. And then it came to their notice and they later promoted the idea.
WE all are the force behind this .... We need to come TOGETHER and make our voices heard to the people who have power to help us .... So please join in this movement of sending letter to the congress-person without any second thought ...
Need Inspiration!!! ... then Remember this video from our childhood ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpT3TqsNqBY

I have another thought ... some tell me this is a good one ...
we will all contact AILA and tell them we all in ATLANTA center we r treated with parity with Chicago cenetr and also we are all stuck here for our next steps just because of the ATlanta calamity... we will raise an issue with AILA and ask them if they can help ... may be if AILA can pressure ATlanta there is a very definite chance that we can all see through this stage... can we contact AILA (Alex) who was in the forum some days back with a message for us just to see what he can offer us .... and since ATLANTA is the only stopping force for us all , we have a chance to ask for some assistance from some immigration team to sort out this fiasco...
I am planning to call him tommorow and speak to him to see , if AILA can provide any releif to us ..i will give it a try..my trail might cost nothing ...
Any thoughts on this welcome ...
|
Count me in...
Guys...PLEASE JUST DON;T WATCH THIS THREAD DO SOMETHING...WRITING A LETTER WON'T COST YOU MUCH..DRAFT IS ALREADY GIVEN..SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR....FAX LETTER TO CONGRESSWOMAN...DON'T KNOW WHEN WE WILL GET THE NEXT CHANCE....SO TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PARTICIPATED IN ANY CAMPAIGN...PLEASE DO TWO THINGS....SEND LETTER TO CONGRESSWOMAN....SEND FLOWERS.....I HOPE THAT THEY WILL SURE LISTEN TO US...
They have slowed down considerably....three approvals only...anybody has any thought why this might be happening....
|
Guys I dont think it will make any sence trying all these flowers stuff etc. As per some friends of mine Dol might get more slower with their approval process because USCIS already have a huge backlog and more are going to come by 17th August 2007. So they might slow down the process of approvals so that they can atleast restrict more to add to the pile. Dont get dishurtened but to me as well this seems very true after seeing the way they work.....So just keep praying coz only that can help....

Below is the responce from Alex Berd when I contacted him on Jun 28th. I will call/email him again tomorrow.

Thanks for the email. I believe you called me today about the same issue. We
are well aware of this painful issue and are doing everything possible
through AILA and our professional advocacy efforts to improve the situation
with the Atlanta PERM center.

deba,
If it doesnt make any sense of trying all these things then it also might not have made any sense of the efforts of the people who made it I -485 status as current again. But it made sense to DOL. And the processing time of PERM Labor doesnt worse than of now as because according to PERM it shouldnt take more than 90 days to get the response (90 days is the heighest). Hope this makes sense.
|
Friends,
Let us not get discouraged by pondering over these unfound theories discussed here. Better ignore people who discourage us and spend our time productively rather than replying to them.
Deba, if you feel that your ideas are correct, please keep it to yourself. I see that you've already got ur labor certified. Congrats! Good luck for your next stages too.
We all sincerely hope we'll join you soon in 485.
Thanks

|
I will in the flower campain. Which day we will send out?
|
see lawyers opinion below .so need to get it certified before july 31 for 485
A-2: In reversing the decision to reject I-485 applications which are received on or after July 2, 2007, the USCIS has extended the filing period until August 17, 2007. However, the August VB shows that visa numbers will be "unavailable" in August 2007. It thus appears that the USCIS is extending the filing deadline for the I-485 applications which were eligible to file in July under the original July VB but is failed to file it July 2007 for a number of reasons. The USCIS appears to extend the filing date until August 17 for these types of applications. However, in your case, you would not be eligible to file I-485 application in July 2007 since you did not have the certified labor certification application before August 1, 2007, you may not be eligible to file I-485 application between August 1 and August 17, 2007. However, if you receive the labor certification application before the end of July, you should be able to file your I-485 application in August between 1st and 17th. The AILA is currently collecting tricky questions from the members and intends to obtain answers from the USCIS. This can be one of those questions. Remember, though, that the USCIS announcement is not authorized to change the August 2007 VB and will not be able to accept any I-485 application like yours after August 1, 2007 in my opinion.
|
my lawyer said that we can file when approval before aug. 17...
|
What if my labor certification is approved after August 1st but before August 17th?
Again, there is no firm guidance here, but we hope such cases will be accepted as there is no statement that applications must have the necessary documents in the month of July. We will try and update this FAQ if we learn otherwise.

guys,
Dont you see Atlanta again slowed down so that not too many people applies before August 17. They were doing the same thing in June. Once they announced that we could not apply for 485 in July they started processing. Now they took it back; Atlanta slowed down again. Since the new announcement made, there are no approvals at all..The ones that shows approved recently, looks like have been approved much earlier. This time even Chicago slowed down.
|
Please do our best to let Atlantic center approve more cases... I will send flowers to them and call them ...
|
Please see in Shusterman.com
Ih the flash news it says that the Perm labor applications which are not approved are out of luck to apply for concurrent processing. I dont know what to do.
But still i will try to send flowers and call/Fax the Atlanta office.
Keep hopes high and leave the rest to god. Lets do whatever we can do.
Planning to send Fax to congress woman today.
Good luck to all .
|
any news?????????? today.......
|
Friends
Instead of worrying about updates now, let's go and spend our time contacting the authorities. People might be really busy filing for their 140 and 485 and might not come back here to update their case, even if they got certified.
So, so and get our efforts going !
|
Hi guyz,

By the way ? what is the confusion on Jul 31st date ... I beleive we should be allset until Aug 17th... if some knows def pls update... my sources say its till Aug 17th ...
|
No, Approval oh man it seems Altanta center is not doing anything they are just watching this show
|
Hi,
I spoke with my attorney, He says that our labor must be approved before July 31st for us to be eligible to apply before August 17th. We have 6 working days. Lets see how our luck is....
|
I am losing hope on Atlanta. Ever since they announced about accepting applications, Atlanta is slow. I see2-4 approvals for last 2 days.
Those idiots are playing such a cruel game.
|
What is the Atlanta Help Desk # when you get reply back from Atlanta for the inquiry.
Please post the Help Desk #. (The e-mail will be signed by the Atlanta Help Desk #?)
I don't know if that will help but will give us little more information
|
We need to find out if we can get in touch with that person. I am assuming that, #10 has your file.
Just a thought.....
