Topic: Whats wrong with ATL PERM Center
It would be helpful to summarize the difference between the two centers in the body of the msg to higlight the disparity and lack of fairness - For e.g.,
Avg processing time in Atlanta = #days
Vs.
Avg processing time in Chicago = # days
May be Trackitt Administrator can help us w/ the statistics? How many cases, mean/median processing time at each center, etc.

Dear Sir / Madam,
This is regarding the labor certification process at the Atlanta PERM Processing Center.
The DOL is not seem to be processing applications in a timebound manner.
Most applications are older than 90 days and are still pending without being processed.
We can understand the above mentioned facts as we are part of a forum of Atlanta Perm Applicants.
and pls find below the contrast details of the 2 processing centers in handling our applications.
Atlanta Perm tracker : http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/atlanta-perm-tracker/
Chicago Perm Tracker : http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/chicago-perm-tracker/
Pls make it fair enough for all applicants and resolve this issue as early as possible.
As a legal, tax-paying and productive members of society, many careers are stalled by this seemingly never ending unfair wait in the American legal immigration system
and is very discouraging and possibly detrimental to the interest of the American global economy in the 21st century.

07/24/2007: USCIS Generous Interpretation of Priority Date Based July 2007 EB-485 Filing Eligibility and Our Urge for OFLC's Certification of PERM Applications Before 08/17/2007
The USCIS FAQ indicates that those who filed a PERM application in July 2007 establishing his/her priority date and and will receive cerification of these PERM applications will be eligible to file a concurrent I-140/EB-485 application on or before August 17, 2007. The current DOS and USCIS actions following the July 2007 VB fiasco is giving a life-time opportunity for these filers to file EB-485 applications such that during the forthcoming long backlogs in adjudication of their applications, they could at least work and travel internationally using EAD and Advance Parole, and when they should be laid off, they could still complete the green card process inasmuch as they would find a similar job after 180 days of filing of the EB-485 applications. We thus urge the leaders of the Office of Foreign Labor Certification, particularly Dr. William Carlson, Chief of the National Program of U.S. Department of Labor, to acclerate the July PERM applications such that they are certified at least within the first two weeks of August 2007. We also urge the AILA to work with the OFLC to seek such cooperation from the agency. As affected by the surge of H-2B applications, we understand that Atlanta National Processing Center has been experiencing some delays in the processing of PERM applications and we strongly urge the Atlanta Center leaders to consider the current exigent circumstances and to accelerate the July 2007 cases adjudication within the next two weeks. Those who should desperately seek such help will include:
Those who have already filed and are waiting for the certification at this time.
Those who will file the PERM application on or before July 31, 2007 in the next one week. Those employers who will complete the required recruitment process by July 31, 2007 should make it sure that the PERM applications be filed online "on or before" July 31, 2007 so that once the PERM application is certified in the first two weeks of August, they submit the concurrent I-140 and EB-485 applications "swfitly" not missing the deadline of August 17, 2007. These aliens may also want to prepare for such potential opportunity and start collection of required supporting documentation in preparation for the situation. This will be particularly true for EB-3 filers as they are the ones who will suffer the most from the upcoming severe visa retrogression in coming years.
We thank in advance for Dr. Carlson's special attention to this request on behalf of the U.S. employers and the foreign workers.

we would be very grateful if this issue can be addressed quickly.
Thanking you in advance,
Best Regards,

One suggestion if everyone would agree - lets put all the emails ID's in the "To", so when someone from foregin labor sees the mail, they know that news media and higher authorities have been copied and would understand that is made highly visible.

I did analysis from Trackitt data ...
All approval cases filed after March 01, 2007

Also we need to come up with a flashy subject line something like - Injustice at Atlanta PERM processing center.
|
Good , Subject line is important.
but if
1. All make same subject line -- if they read one mail then they can pretty much delete all of them . But it has its own advantages saying all from a same group of affected people being standing together.
2. if all different subject line might make it diffficult to delete and may some times will look not much coordination...
Anybodiies thoughts are welcome ... we will all stick to whatever everybody feels is a good idea
I used the Subject : Atlanta Perm processing : Delays / Issues :
|
rutgersll, this analysis is great and SUBSTANTIATES our point that there is a lack of fairness in the labor certification process

Re. Statistics: I think we only need -
Chicago vs. Atlanta
Chicago Mean (Days) 12.7, number of observattions 111
Atlanta Mean (Days) 103.2, number of observattions 66
Above analysis based on a sample of cases processed by Chicago and Atlanta centers since March 2007
We can omit the statistical variance, P/F statistic etc.
On Average it takes 91 more days for Atlants to process a case!

Thank you for your message, create a message about it on our blog section to make people more aware – go to our home page and fill out the form with the information you just sent me. I’ll pass your concerns along so we can see if there is anything else we can do on this. But please make the posting so people can see it and become more aware.

Lets us all do that ..looks a good idea to me :
1. Monday Chat
2. Speaking to Atlanta Journal etc ..
But did we all complete the emails that we need to do for today ... Time is flying ... I just saw 2 names ...
I remember a short story .Once there was a king who wanted to test the unity & loyality of his people ..so asked everybody who is only willing enough to pour a cup of Milk into a Pond during a dark night time.Assuming that other person will pour milk , most of the people just added a cup of water instead of milk.
And so the end ended ..Next day when the pond was inspected , the king could see only water with some white tint.
Moral : if we all put some efforts and stand together on what we speak & do then there is a chance we can make it through ,otherwise all of our efforts will get diluted by each other and result in a total loss for everybody.
lets us make some united efforts ...
Pls send emails & add names .. lets take it out of our plate and start other ideas flowing ....
