Topic: Whats wrong with ATL PERM Center
Hi guys,
hope you will all read this one. I have done the following:
(1) faxed the letter to Atlanta Center about the horrible situation down there and asked them to do something
(2) Called the Atlanta Center and left a voicemail.
(3) I called the Labor Certification Center at (202) 693-3010. That's the number of the Atlanta Center's "boss" in DC. They just said "oh, we are already trying to solve this problem, blah blah." I suggest you guys all call this number to let them know how severe this problem is now! It will at least give them a little pressure.
(4) I am drafting the letters to my senators. They will hopefully help me make some inquiries. I am not very hopeful but it never hurts to try.
Let's keep doing this until they hear us and start paying attention!

They keep saying they're working on it but we don't see more than 2 approvals per day and even that is not every day.

how can u tell that only two cases approved per day? , i belive there are a lot of ppl have a perm applications that they did not jion this site ...., if they still approving two cases per day we are in a BIG trouble !

I called the number and i was told they are already aware of the situtation and working on it.
1. i asked for the current dates of processing in that center ?
2. will all cases be cleared before sep ?
I did not receive an answer. but i was given a email id to mail to ask for the 2 information where i can get an answer..

People, lets prepare to call whoever at the DOL DC office, Atlanta PERM Center and also send emails to all the concerned personnel.
I received an email from my attorney after I requested them to contact AILA and have them speak to Atlanta center. I am afraid I do not have any good news for you guys. Here is the response I received verbatim..
"AILA has been in contact with the Department of Labor about this problem. They are aware of it. The reasons for the problems are set out in our article. However, it is a recurring problem in Atlanta because they have to process the labor certifications for H2Bs, which are under a set timeframe, every six months. When the individual in charge of this for the Department of Labor was asked questions at the recent AILA conference his response was not really very promising"
So people, we have to fight our own battles and no one can do much for us unless we take the lead. So lets bombard the phones on Monday and express our situation, frustration, and consequences of the delays to us & our families etc and plead with them to clear our back logs. PLEASE CALL/EMAIL/FAX all the Key personnel at DOL, Atlanta Center, and also your senators. I have listed all of the phone numbers, email addresses and personnel name in this thread few days back. If we do not act now, we are screwed..BIG TIME

Its sad that we could not have 10 people sign up to call the DOL office in Washington to express our frustration and request them to process our PERM applications faster. I can only imagine how many people would have shown up for a protest if we had organized one in Atlanta, when people cannot even bother calling over the phone. Is it that people still do not realize that they are in a grave situation at the Atlanta PERM center or do people not care about it? People, please have your friends who are in this mess to participate and get involved immediately. We need more members to participate in this campaign. For those of you who have listed their names, please report back with your feedback so that it can motivate others to join in.

I had called Atlanta center (404-893-0101) a few days back and had left a message. Surprisingly they called me back this morning (few minutes back) and the person had left a message saying that my attorney or my employer should call them to get an update on my PERM application and they will not provide updates to me. Unfortunatley I was not able to talk to the person since the call went directly to my voice mail. I will update my employer and attorney about this.. lets see

Never mind if its less than 90days. Just call and tell that I notice the Atlanta PERM center is taking a LONG time to process PERM applications and that Department of State's visa bulletin has all the priority dates current and it will not stay like that for too long as it is a one time golden opportinuty for us to file our immigrant visa petitions. People have been waiting for 3-4 years to file their GC due to the retrogression and now is the only opportunity we have to file our cases. If we miss this opportunity we may have to wait for 4-5 years again as the DOS has clearly stated that the dates will retrogress in the next few months. Also, tell that you are law abiding person and have been paying your taxes and playing by the rules and have a legal status in this country. Also, tell that these delays will affect your job, your career and your family. personalize it to your situation and explain to them very clearly and request them to have Atlanta PERM center to process our application quickly as we have very limited time now.

Just called 202-693-3010. A lady (***sky) picked up the phone and said they are aware of the issue. I pressed them take some action now. If you could get through agian, please ask what messure they are going to take to address the issue.

Guys i called the DOL office and asked for some status and i was told to call back in a hour as she is in a meeting ... Not sure this is a stanadard message for all calling her .... we will try again and keep all posted with any updates...
Following are the items of information i might insist for :
1. What dates are being processed , if the center is active now ?
2. any ETA / numbers to get the cases Approved before the end of this month ?
3. if there is a way they can post/update on daily basis , some information on their site / phone messages on ETA , Current processing dates that would keep us all updated ...

Thanks guys for the update. It is good to know that they are aware of the issue, but it does not help us them just being aware of it. We NEED them to ACT on it. They need to start doing something to fix this problem for us. They have been aware of it for the last few months, but they have not done anything at address it. So please emphasize that they need to address this issue quickly and fix the problem by doing something concrete either by allocating additional personnel and resources at Atlanta and press upon the Atlanta PERM director to clear the backlogs soon

Yes. We need to push them hard to act and to let us know how soon they will get problem fixed.

I just called Ms.Anderson number and I was also told she is in a meeting and the operator told that they are aware of the issue. When I asked her to provide an ETA, she said that only Ms.Anderson can answer that and she transferred me to her voice mail. I had left her a voice message.
