Topic: Whats wrong with ATL PERM Center
I'm not sure if DOL would sort/seggregate the applications by profession and then process them. Do you have a reason to believe that they do?

I agree that DOL doesn't have time to sort etc...i don't think that is the cause for delays... It's the H2 B processing reasoning they have...

My guess is based on the sheer magnitude of applications awaiting LC and some being randomly picked up for approval / denial. They definitely sort it based on something. Now, that something is definitely not the priority date or date of application. The sorting could be by profession or company or education & experience level.

i think there is a big brown bag with our cases in it...luck....

the order is forward/backward/circle/clockwise/counterclockwise/pentagon-wise/square...something like that.

Is there a way to do voluntary service for them. I am sure we will pcik up the process in just few minutes and will be able to speed up the process tremendeously. we can approve all the applications by end of this week and with highest quality.

The way they process:
I presume, the applications will be sent to different processing officers on each day. If the officer who is recieved your application has not been assigned to any other task, and processing the applications up to date, then it takes less time for process. Each individual officer will go in FIFO(first in first out) method to process the applications he received, but not on whole applications that are assigned to different officers.

We need to voice our concerns. We have only 8 working days left and going by the averages, it looks like v r getting 6 approvals in a day on trackitt. Atmost 48 approvals by Aug 17th!!!!! What about the thousands of us who dont get approved due to delays in Atlanta Processing Center!!!!
We have to do something about it. Our voice needs to be heard.

Non software, doesnt make any sense, I am a Pharmacist waiting for 64 days..??? I think they are picking cases randomly, I heard that one pharma guy doesnt have Lincense got approval !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so all miracles....best of luck for everybody...

08/07/2007: Certified PERM Application (ETA 9089) Filing Advisory With USCIS
The hard copy certified ETA 9089 is printed on a light blue color papers by the DOL to certify that it is the original. In filing I-140 petition, the employer is required to submit the original. However, in certain situations, the original is not available to the employer for a number of reasons including loss. In such instances, under the long standing agreement between the USCIS and the DOL, the USCIS can request and obtain a duplicate from the DOL.
It has been a practice with the employers, aliens, and attorneys to print out a copy of PERM application at the time of online filing and once they received the certified ETA 9089, they just make a copy of the employer/alien/attorney signature pages for their files adding other pages from their file copy which they had kept right after filing of the PERM application. People should cease such practice immediately. The original of the certified labor certification application is not only distinguished in color but also the certification of validity period at the bottom of each page, which they started after July 16, 2007. Accordingly, unless the copy shows the validity period at the bottom of each page, it is not a valid copy of the original. Accordingly, people should make it sure that as soon as the hard copy of the original certified application is received from the DOL, they immediately make a copy of every page and keep it as a valid copy of the original certified PERM application. IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT.

There was no reply from Atlanta when HR and Atterney sent inquiry emails last week so Yesterday I asked them to send fax and they did. I don't know whether fax helped me or not but CERTIFIED today. Good luck to every one.

Thanks for the encouraging message. My attorney had sent three email inquiries without any good result. My employer sent a fax to Atlanta yesterday. I finally convinced my attorney to call Atlanta as well. The attorney only reached voice mail. Let's see if any of them helps.

I have requested my Lawayer and Employer again to send a query/FAX/call to DOL. Don't know why they have been so reluctant so far that they havn't done it even once .

My employer told that all APRIL cases filled by them are approved and they are getting May apporvals from yesterday..
mine is May 11th.. God knows what will happen....

what state is your employer in? was told by my lawyer's office, still have pending Feb, march, april, and I'm in NY. or maybe it is that once they've oked one case of an employer, they start automatically OKing all of them, so you are lucky in that sense.

There are as many as 70 + cases in April itself un-atteneded ... Just in the forum ..if so just guess how many is lying in DOL... they have not done with April ... But this is a trend they do so often.. when they are going to complete one month , they jump 1 month ahead and clear out some in random fashin and come back again to Square 1 ... we have seen the saem During FEB , MARCH & now in APRIL ... nothing spl .... but whatever be let somebody of us get certified in Apr/May / june / July .... i hope many are so desperate as me ...i cannot say all will not have happy faces at the end of Aug 17th. but for atleast few...

I am in software and my employer is from VA. My priority is April 17 and still waiting!!!! So whichever lawyer said April is done, is wrong!

I am also interested to know if anybody is April and in software who has not been or been approved. That gives an idea if they are doing software FIFO statewise. Mine is April 17, State-VA, profession-Senior Software Engineer
