Hi friends,
I have a basic question. Pls excuse my ignorance. I am still learning (seems like ever growing complex one) this immigration concepts/forms/procedures.
My comp applied for Labor. Lawyer refused to tell me the receipt number. Later (after 2 months),. they told its approved. While signing I noted the ETA case number and had it for my records (in that form i didn't see any other number, say receipt number or so). It was like C-08026-XXXXX. So now, I have my case number. I thought I would be able check the status of my case on-line (without replying on my lawyer), but I am unable to. I tried
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
On trying it doesn't accept my case number (it say's it needs Receipt number, I guess its something that starts as SRC/WAC/ etc)
Then on further research I came to know abt
http://testlabor.doleta.gov/pbls/pbls_pds.cfm
But even that site is only for backlogs. As it doesn't accept any case number that starts with "C-"
So my questions are
1. How can I use this case number I have and track the status online (I want to know when my company apply for I-140, the next stage. I keep my fingers crossed that what they said as "labor got approved" is really true).
2. How can I get my receipt number from this case number.
3. Can I use the same number to track my entire GC path, basically I want to track when my company apply/applied for I-140 next.
Looking fwd for some pointers. Thanks.
Thank your very much for your time and help.
Regards,
Krishnan

Labor gets filed at DOL.
I-140 gets filed at USCIS. Anything which is filed at USCIS has receipt numbers like WAC, EAC etc... So those can be tracked from USCIS websites.
DOL stuff can only be checked by either Law firm or the Employer.
