I have the CSQ interview in NY but i've been asked to go with spouse. Can we request a different venue eg montreal? 'Cos my spouse a student in montreal; needs a visa to come to the States which complicates matters. Almost impossible 'cos we've got only a few weeks. I'm the principal applicant. I've a visitor's visa to canada though.
Second, what's the CSQ interview about-- what kinds of questions, and are you obliged to do that in French as well? What's the format-- any written tests?
Any reply ASAP, most appreaciated.

About the first part I cannot help you, I am under the understanding that they do not interview people in Montreal but maybe if you explain your situation to someone, who knows. Responding to the second part, however, is not difficult at all. I had my QC interview about a month ago. They basically just review your file and ask you questions like why you want to live in Quebec and how you plan to support yourself. I had alot of points riding on my ability to speak French and so it was conducted completely in French. If you can do your interview in French then you should, that is a large part of the interview, they want to make sure that if you say that you can speak French on your application that you really can. There are no written tests, or at least there weren't for me.
