Topic: HOW LONG AFTER MEDICALS DONE?
Posted by curramba (140) 21 Apr 2008
Hi eveyone. I would like to know about how long do I have to wait to get a decision on my case or visa stamped, after medicals are done? My medicals (spouse and mine) were done March 2008. Any info is really appreciated Thanks a lot.

Mine too. Generally, this is between 2 - 6 months. I have seen ppl getting quicker than this also (in the forum). But it all depends upon how is the load on consulate, your background checks.

There is nothing deterministic for each case. I hope they reduce the time lap going forward.

USFAZLI. What do you mean with CAIPS notes? Is there any way you can see the status of your medical exams?

Passport Request
Does anyone know how long the CIC hold onto your passports for once you get to the PPR stage? Would it be likely they'd accept them delivered in in person, ie to take away the same once they're done, or do they require them for some time (what do they do with them??). It's occurred to us that, of course, once they've requested your passports, this prevents all travel to Canada in the meantime.
Any feedback would be gratefully received.

I guess you didn't read my post properly. I have just received the request to send my passport to Buffalo for stamping. Hence the total duration between medicals (completed on Dec 2007) and the passport request in my case is around 4 months.

faisal,

http://caips.ca/ has all information about CAIPS. Basically, these are the notes about your file progress. Though you may need to understand those codes for the purpose :)
