I have just had a Transfer to Local.
Can someone please tell me what the flow of events is after this in a gist.
What I have so far is that
1> We get out medical
2> Passport is requested and the visa is stamped on at the local office
3> Advice to land in Canada is sent within the next 6 months.
Please let me know if this is correct and what happens after this.

Kanika,
You should be receiving an IA letter with information whether an interview is needed or not. Alongwith this your medical forms. You will also get information when to pay the landing fees.
After this medicals are done, Passport is requested (and landing fee, if not asked already). Once stamped your visa is valid till one year from the date you took medicals

gcgay,
The fee you mentioned is for applying to immigrate. This fee is non refundable. Landing fee is something you pay once your application is near to finalize. This link will tel you more about this http://cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp. And YES!!!! this is to be paid as of now for all applications.
