Received my IELTS today...it is Writing(6.5), Reading(8.5), Listning(8.0) and speaking (8.0). Does that make 14 points? I need at least 11 to make 67. Screwed up in writing. With 14 I make 70. Is that a safe score?
|
Instinct,
You make 15 points. So your score should be now "71". Also as long as you are equals or above min cut off (67) - you are good to go. Go ahead!!!!!!
|
How does it become 15...?? I thought a score of 6.5 was 2 points and rest everything would be 4 points each..making a total of 14.
|
Yes, I can see that there is no provision for "3" points. So taking it back...you get 14 points
|
What is the mapping of IELTS score to CIC points for each of the categories?
4 points for what score in IELTS?
2 points for what score in IELTS?
|
5 - 6.5 (less than 7) is 2 points
7 and above is 4 points

Hi All,
Is IELTS exam required for people who are already in US. I am in US for past 8 years and currently on H1B.
Please let me know.
thank for your help in advance.

Hi,
Inspite of being in US since 1999 and job experience of 10 years, CIC has asked me for IELTS. I don't think they are looking at any credentials on Language anymore...

Thanks for the reply PRAspirant

Nope, its the same. In one you provide all your documents along with your application (and I believe this is only if you apply in the US) and in the other you only file your application and provide documents later.

You right, But what I mean there is two track. Not necessarily only US residence can apply for regular track. Read more www.CIC.gc.ca.
