Posted by CanDesi (9) 11 May 2008
Hi,

I completed my medical on Mar 08 2008. Can someone please let me know when I can expect the final approval letter? Appreciate your help on this regard.

Thank you!

CanDesi.
Mine was done about the same date as yours and I just received a letter with a big CONGRATULATIONS and an envelope to return my passport for visa stamp. Good luck to you. You should be receiving good news soon!

Mine was completed on Feb28 and recevied at Ottawa on Mar10. I am still waiting :) Thus there seems to be some more actions taken by Consulate prior sending the letter - for instance "background check"

I had submitted my FBI report in Sep 07 and additional pc certificate requested by CIC in Jan 08. Btw, my case is processed by NYC office instead of Buffalo. Any thoughts on the processing times for NYC office?

Candesi,

Usually the file is transferred to off-load from Buffalo. However there is no deterministic way to tell that it will be completed quickly once transferred. I suggest just wait n watch. Every case has their own reviews and once those are done / approved by officer - you get ppr request.

My online status has been updated with comment - "Medical results have been received". Does is this mean that the medical results are positive?

CanDesi, that is a good sign. When they received medicals and all other requirements are satisfied; they usually issue PPR at the time they update the online status to medicals received. Therefore, it not only means the medicals results are good but also that you are receiving PPR within the next days. When did your online status change? and, what is your local office?

I found the online update on May 21st. My file is being processed at NYC office.

my online status have't change since they tranfer my file to seatle,i did my medical and paid for the landing fee and sent the pictures for my family. they have recived the medical in December but still on line is the same message. so don't worry, people landed in Canada and their status hasn't change. you can e-mail them and they will give you response back or update you.

More than 6 month after medicals. Got a reply from Detroit "The file is pending a review by a senior immigration officer", any comments?

hey Candesi,

Did you get your PPR?
My e-case was changed to meds received on the same date. As of today no PPR. I saw a lot of people have received the PPR and some have even got their visa stamped.
