Topic: Case has been completed.
Posted by curramba (199) 12 May 2008
Hi guys, I just receive an envelope and a letter last week, with a big CONGRATULATIONS! and stating that my case is complete, and that buffalo office requires my passports for visa stamps. Do you guys know by any chance about how long is the validity or expiration for this visa before I enter to Canada? Thanks.

Congrats to you man!!!

The visa validity is till one year from your date of medicals. Say if you have completed your medicals on Dec 1, 2008 then your visa will be valid till Dec 1, 2009.

Hi curramba,
Can you please tell me which office has your file.I got PPR today but it says that the officer has decided that I am eligible for immigration to Canada and to send passports. It doesn't say anything about congratulation's or that my case is completed. My file is in New York. Thanks

Hi, srnce21.

My file is in the buffalo office. The letter I have already received, is a green sheet, with a white sticker on the front page that has my name and file# on it. The letter starts with a capitalize CONGRATULATIONS, and stating that the buffalo visa office has completed my case, and they require me to submit the right of permanent residence fee and passports for visa stamps.

IndianMunda.
Thanks a lot for the info. Do you know a possible answer for this?
My son had medicals by Dec/2007 and the rest of my family and me had the medicals by March/2008, Do you know what would be the expiration for those visas? Thanks!

As far as I can think - it should be the medical date for the primary applicant. Correct details when you get your passport stamped!!!!!!

Thanks my friend. I would go get my passports stamped in person. I'm planning to walk in the buffalo office within 2 weeks. I'll post the info once I'm done with all this.

curramba, they will give you the expiration date when you get the visa stamped on your passport; howerver, I think its when the fisrt of your family had medicals done, so probably its gonna be dec/2008, not march/2009...

srnce21, your file is in New York and they have a different ppr template; don't worry they don't say congratulations; that's only Buffalo's template but its the same.

I dont agree with this. The entire process of immigration relies on what the primary applicant do. Say for instance, primary applicant can go and get visa stamped for all, dependent applicant cannot land themselves to Canada without primary applicant.
I would like to see my theory getting applied once curramba has visa stamped.
