Topic: Didn't receive ackowledgment letter yet!
Hi, I mailed my PR application about 6 weeks ago. Do you know how long it takes before they send out the acknowledgment letter? Is there a way we can phone them and ask if they received my application? Thanks for the help!

I sent mine on April 07,08. I emailed them( buffalo) after a month. they replied " we send back your app if not complete. otherwise, we will send your notifiaction in 20 weeks!"""
so I guess 20 weeks makes it 5 month just for IA. no phone number available.

You also need to know that there is a change going for the applications submitted post Feb 27, 2008. Read the details on http://cic.gc.ca. You can see on this forum that for anyone submitting on or after Feb 27 hasnt received the AOR.

just FYI. I got my application back yesterday(06/02). They returned it for missing I-20 & some gap in history( their mistake).
RD stamp on my appl was April 10 and return date was May 16th. so 5 weeks i guess.

So when you submit the application again, does it start from April 10th or the date you re-submit your application?

can u check if your bank draft has been cashed or not . If it is then "Good News" your app is in QUEUE if not then you should wait for it to return back.

Hello Everybody, I have submitted my application on 14th April at Buffalo office. My Cashier's cheque hasnt been negotiated yet....Does it mean they still dint look at my application.
Also I can see different terminology i.e., AOR etc., can any one explain the process and time lines roughly if possible.

They returned my money orders back.! I think they mentioined that at this time they kept no record of me. So whenever I apply it would be all over agian.

I submitted my application on 4th April and I haven't heard any thing from them.
Also, the money order has not been cash out either.
The only thing we can do is.... Wait.........ing.....

Hi, I heard that ppl who have applied after 27th Feb 2008 are all waiting , but few days back i did some search and have found that 2-3 guys got AOR even they applied after 27th Feb and a couple more had thier money orders encashed.
Can you plz give a brief profile of yours, one thing common in those applications was all of them were in USA or canadian graduates and been here for last 2-3 years.

Hi, I applied on March 1st 2008 and I got the AOR on June 6th 2008.

It is good to know that they are processing the files even for those applied after feb 27th (although, it is sluggish)

@ bryalamuri , Congrats !! could you please kindly share a brief profile of yours, I mean ur education, Profession and since how long u r in USA or canada ?
Now the PR is more profile based rather than Points based.

Qualification: M.Tech(Computer Science) from JNTU, India
US exp: working in USA since June 2006,
Total exp as a software engineer: 9 yrs
Applied for Canada Green card on March 1st, 2008
Received AOR on June 6th, 2008

i had submitted my applicatio on apr 22 2008, havent got any letter from embassy. just confirmed from bank that money order were cashed in on 26th july 2008.
does it mean that now i should expect a letter as money order is cashed??
