Topic: Is it ok to send TOEFL Score instead of IELTS for Canada PR?
Posted by theverve (84) 19 Jun 2008
I have rec'd an email from the New Delhi to send them updated information and I was wondering if it's ok to attach TOEFl scores for language requirement.

Please advice, gurus.

Thx,
Jes

I got the same request to to provide IELTS but I just took it easy and after a month they sent me the confirmation that I donot have to give IELTS. Please donot waste money and time on this. They will get back to you with in a month. I am currently carrying the canadian GC and living in US.

Wow that's interesting. Did you also get an email from them asking to send all updated info again(forms, supporting docs, etc)? BTW, did you ask them or they just let you know on their own not to take IELTS? Thanks pal.

I it very strange, when I was sending my application I attached all the tests as well letter from my employer stating that I'm a teacher and still I had to take the test. It looks like it all depends on the person who is looking over your application. Some people are just lucky :)

Most of the cases - IELTS is required. Yeah some (very few) ppl can be lucky :). However submitting this ensure you will get points whethre in lucky list or not. This also ensures that your app will not be delayed due to reason that consulate asks for submitting IELTS and then u need to get a date for exam.
