Will Status change in CIC website from “In Process" happens first or will I get postal mail from CIC regarding passport request or any query?
When contacted CIC by E-mail “they responded replying that we have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.
How long usually background info checks take place?

I dont know about others, but personally , my experience is that the post comes some time before there is an update to the status.
The back groung check could be anything from 2 months to ..... depending on the case ..

I am waiting for my background check. Medical exam completed in aug 07, my wife's and newborn completed in Nov07. Medical exam is good until Aug 07 for my application. So, if the background check results are not back next month, do we have to redo the physical again?
I ordered CAIPS, and there is a section that showes all my dependends and to the right there is a visa column and under the visa there is a date next to it (24/07/08). I am wondering if this date means when they will issue the visa???
But reading in the forum I have seen that CIC doesnt issue visas if the background check is not here. They will re-issue the medical forms to redo the physical again. Just wondering if anyone knows anything why this date would be there under the visa column.

I guess it might be the BFD. i.e the day when your case will be opened again for the processing.

Hi Press... I am not sure... but that date could be the date your medicals expire... check your records... I think CIC makes a note of when your medicals expire as it is also when your visa (if issued) also expires...
If your medicals expire you will be asked to get checked again... it says so on the letter they sent you requesting you to undergo medical examinations... read it again...
Hopefully you will hear from them before Aug '08.... good luck to you!

hi had med in august job been approved by lmo and hrsa but emailed them and they saying its in a queue what does that mean are they trying to say not look at it, but like i said had med so dont know what to think any more any answer please coolmum
