Hi,
I have a question regarding the Police Certification/Clearance that we need to obtain for Canadian PR application. I have lived in multiple cities in India and abroad after reaching the age of 18. So do I need to get Police Clearance from each of those towns/cities or just one from my current base in India? I heard that you can submit one PC per country of residence. Does anyone know more about this? Please help.

One PC per country of residence. You need to obtain PC only if you have been in a country for more than 6 months.

Thank you Pependri. That should help.

Yes , 6 months . and to add to that, if it was business and if from the same Co. (like in software) then only where you reside currently and India.

Thank you Kanika.
My next query is: Since I live abroad, should I get the police certification through my local Indian Consulate/Embassy or do I need to go to India to get it?
|
Kanika is wrong here. Whatever company you work, if you live in a country for more than 6 months you need Police clearance.
Also, it is best to apply at the embassy, it takes just 3 weeks from NY.
