has anyone else applied around this time and had anything back from them?
I received a letter in Jan 2008 asking for me to update my application which I have. The letter stated that we would hear from them in 3 - 5 months (so June latest)... its now August and we still havent heard anything.
I'm currently in Canada on a work permit, but am desperate to get my PR so I can change jobs.
If anyone else has applied at the London CHC it would be great to hear how you are getting on, and how long the process took.

London seems to have slowed down. Posts on another forum suggests this is normal during summer, some officers are on summer holidays while others are moved to process visitor and student visas (as their volume increases during summer). Hope they will start again.
However, I have also heard that people with a job offer are processed faster (within 6 months). Did you sent them your job details? Perhaps you may want to contact them.

Thanks for your response Ray.
I sent them a copy of all my employment papers that I needed to get my working visa. I also sent them a copy of the actual 3 year working visa that was put in my passport. They had all this back in April.
I have emailed the CHC but they state on the website that they will get back to you in 28 days, or not at all if you can find the answer elsewhere... I love the power these guys have.
My wife is back in the UK in August, so she might go in person to the CHC to check they have all our updated info and to see when we might hear about our medicals...
Fingers crossed

Hello,
Did you sent the information for the work permit application only or did you also updated your PR application file with the Canadian job offer? The reason I am asking is because these are two different files, and updating one doesn’t mean that they would update the other, so you would have to proactively request the update to the PR file as well.
Sorry if that what you meant, just wanted to clarify.

Hi,
Everytime I have corresponded with the CHC via the post I have included a covering letter with everything clearly pointed out.
including my file number, name, address etc..
In this case I sent my employment details and work permit along with my updated Police record as the previous ones were now out of date. Everything else that they requested in the 90 day letter was given to the CHC by hand a few weeks before, including a surname change following our marriage. On the online application status they have updated our Surname so we at least know that they have correctly received the information we delivered by hand.
