Topic: PR in Process, Expecting baby in October...
Hi,
Our Canadian PR is in process. We are expecting our first baby in October. The Lawyer says that the application cannot be finalized untill the baby is born and the baby's details like Birth Certificate, US Passport has been added with fees of $150 to the PR Application.
Is this the standard procedure. I wonder why the consulate will need the baby's information since he/she will be a US citizen ?

If American citizen need to go through with other Citizen for PR why not the Child?The Lawyer is right. Even if the child will not accompany with you STILL you need to include the child. If you don't put her ( I don't know why I feel you are going have a girl) she can never beome a PR.

Congratulations! We're in the same boat but our baby's due in November. My wife's medicals were delayed, pending x-rays which we will do after she gives birth. You have to update the processing centre of your new situation (ie. additional dependent) but you don't have to pay the fee yet. You can send all the requested documents (US passport, birth certificate, $150 fee, etc) when the baby's born. Good luck!

We are on the same boat. I am expecting a baby in a few weeks. I am just wondering where do you got the fee of $150. I think it should be $ 550 as other family members.

Its $150 to add the baby. I actually emailed and faxed the consulate and they sent me a application to add the baby.
But they need the Birth Certificate, Passport and then they wills end the medical forms for the baby.
Do u know how much time it takes to get the passport ?

Actually here is some more info on my case. I actually have a misdemeneour conviction. So my rehabilitation is in process too. Thats the reason my application is getting delayed. I filed the Federal Askilled Application in Feb 2007.
Also my attornery did not get the RFE for like 4-5 mos in last october. That delayed it further.

You already got the passport for your baby, right ?
I know that it takes a few weeks to get the Birth Certificate, and it takes about a month to get passport after that. I am not sure if it's correct. If you already went through the process to get passport for your baby, please let me know the details, how can I get it as soon as possible.
About CIC, I am wondering if they can send medical form with only birth certificate.

I faxed them a letter and they sent it in 3 days.
But the whole process seems lengthy...I dont know why they cant send the medical forms for baby right now.....First we send passport and BC and then they wills end the medical forms..... |

Can you let me know what kind of application they sent to you. Today I emailed them about my baby and they replied that I need to send them his birth certificate, fee, photos, then they will issue medical form. I feel concerned that whether I need any other documents or not.
