Topic: After PR visa stamping in CHC-London, Receiving passports back from Canadian Embassy, Abu-Dhabi, UAE
Posted by smrabbani (90) 27 Oct 2008
I have sent my passports to CHC London for PR visa stamping. As per their letter, for middle east applicants, the CHC will return the passports to the applicants through Canadian Embassy, Abu Dhabi,UAE in 30 working days. Canadian Embassy, Abu Dhabi will call the applicant within that period to deliver the passports. Any body has such experience recently?

Middle eastern applicants, please share your experience in this regard, like how many days it took for you to get a call from Candian Embassy, Abu Dhabi? What is the mode of sending the passports by the Embassy? Do they send by courier? Will they ask for your choice of courier? Who pays for the courier and how? Can somebody collect the passports in UAE on the applicant's behalf.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Rabbani,
Hope you would have received your passports by now.
Can you kindly share the same information with me as my passports were received by CHC on Nov 11 and I have tentatively planned to travel on Dec 03 for landing (as this coincides with Haj holidays here in Saudi). I also received the same letter saying the Embassy in Riyadh will contact you. Please share your experience and how much time it took you to get back your passports? Appreciate your quick response.
Regards - Siddiqui

Hi,

Yes, I received my passports on Nov. 05, after 20 days of submission at London office. Canadian Embassy at Abu-Dhabi did not call me, instead they just delivered to Aramex courier, who called me for approval to pay their courier charges (KD 26/-) to deliver to Kuwait. I immediately approved over the phone and they passports were delivered to me (by Aramex) the next day. I landed on Nov. 10. Wishing you all the best.

Dear Rabbani,
Thank you for the info.
I managed to speak to some one yesterday at the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh who informed me they had just received my passports and will be sent by overnight delivery through Aramex. Also they were kind enough to give me the Airway bill (tracking) number. I collected the passports today Nov 30 from the courier office by paying SAR 100/-.
It took (from Nov 11 to Nov 30) almost 3 weeks to get back the passports. The visa stamp date is Nov 19, so it seems they were held for quite sometime in the despatch dept.
I am planning to land on Dec 04. Thank you for the info.

Topic: After PR visa stamping in CHC-London, Receiving passports back in Kuwait

We are residing in Kuwait. Received e-mail to send passport to London office for Visa stamping. Checked with different courier companies regarding sending the passport. They are ready to deliver the passport to the London office for stamping, but they are not ready to give us a pre-paid envelope to get the passport back from London. Can you please advise, if the London office will arrange by themself to send the passport back in the self addressed envelope we send to them or will we have any problems.

Message in the E-mail we received
By courier or mail:
Send your passport(s), photos and the completed CHECKLIST. You must enclose a self addressed
envelope, at least 23cm by 33cm, addressed to you, large enough and strong enough to transport your
passport(s) and visa(s) to the address where you wish to receive your visa(s). We will endeavour to return
your passport(s), within 30 working days of their receipt.
