Hi, I applied for canadian permanent residency to Buffalo in Dec. 2006 and got AOR in Jan. 2007.
Then I got IA in Oct. 2007. Recently I got laid off from the company which is my arranged employment.
Does it effect if I get EI from Canadian government? Has someone been in a similar situation before?

You may want to speak with an immigration lawyer about this. I'm not sure what impact it might have on your application, but -- with all due respect to the very knowledgeable and helpful posters on this site -- you are probably better off getting information from someone who deals with these sort of matters professionally.
