Topic: How long it takes after medical for ppr at buffalo office
I took mine in the first week of October and it reached Ottawa in the last week of October.
When i send an email to Buffalo, they replied back acknowledging that they received my Medicals but said that they do not have an estimate for the turn around time.
So, i guess that it is a waiting game.
|
My doctor sent the medicals in Aug, the delivery date was Aug 28, am still waiting for some update, when i check the online status it still says "In process" so i guess we just need to wait.
|
hi,
I did the Medical in Oct 18 and dr sent it on Nov 13 ,
When I called Ottawa office the lady said " It Took around 6- 8 week to update.
I am still waiting .
|
hi thanks for the reply, my medicals were done on 13th aug and ecas system says in process and when we click on process it says medical results have been received. i dont know how long is this wait for PPR its almost 4months since my medicals were done
|
My medicals reached Ottawa on Sep-6 exactly on the 60th day,and my FBI 'no record' certificate reached Buffalo on Oct-6, exactly the 90th day...............and I still have not got the PPR.
And E-CAS doesnt recognise my file number!
Question: Doesnt Canadian Embassy send out PPR within 2 months of receiving medicals!
|
i think its big lineup for ppr at buffalo
|
Hello,
Am sorry to see that there are a few others just like me, waiting for more than 2 months after Medicals to get PPR, but am glad that I am not alone.
My next step is ordering my CAIPS notes through a friend in Canada.
If any of u have any updates, please update TRACKITT.
|
Same here
Medicals received in Ottawa on August 31
Still waiting for PPR
No ecas status changed
I contacted them on mid Nov and they say my case was still in process
I have also ordered CAIPS, waiting for that too
|
In the past 2 years, I have seen Canadian PR process move in super speed for MARRIED folks, but getting stalled for folks that r unmarried.
Question: Why E-CAS is not able to pull my file number, in spite of medicals completed 90 days back.
|
cnstudd,
for your ecas don't bother too much it is not reliable anyway.
I wondered maybe you can't see it because your name in the system may be mispelled or your date of birth or country of origin may be mistaken since you need to put all this info to see your ecas status that could be the reason. Any silly thing may be screwed. Why don't you check your AOR and see how they spelled your name or date of birth maybe it can help. Just a thought.
I alos feel good to see I am not the only one. I wish I could get PPR before Christmas

Hi All
I have a update for you.
Yesterday, I received a letter from the consulate asking me to send my passports for Permanent Visa Stamping.
They mentioned that it is time sensitive and that the passports should be send to them before March 30th, 2008 or else I will have to start the process all over again. The letter was dated December 11th, 2007.
This week has been one with mixed emotions and reactions for me. First, the retrogression of the EB2 dates to 2000 made me loose hope and then this approval comes through. So, I guess that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck to you all as well.

The Canadian Immigraion from Buffalo replied back to my email thus:-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your medical results have been received
We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.
Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has this happened to anyone else??
I am puzzled and frustrated bcos, I have a USPS tracking number that indicates that my FBI fingerprint 'no record' certificate had reached Buffalo on Oct-5, 2007, and its been 90 days ever since!!!
I have been on F2 visa for 3 yrs, got my MS degree from US and on H1 visa for 3 yrs now, and had submitted earlier all my W2's, bank statments.etc
What does it mean by "gathering info from other govt. offices" ?
|
hi i am also like you only i have also done my medical from los angeles on the third week of october and it reached india on the 1st week of nov. My question is that i am also waiting for passport request ,if i also recieve the passport request will my condition will be same as you.I should also have to deposit my passport before 30 th March 2008.
|
cnstudd
don't panic! This is normal and we are in the same situation. You should order your CAIPS note to find out details.
Security/background screening takes longer if they have to contact other government offices, it says in the rules as one of the factor that delays the process.
We are also waiting for PPR and are delayed for the same reason. Usually it happens when you lived/worked in different countries than your own. This is our case and my guess it is yours too.

hello cvv31,
Hmmm! But u from Belgium, and things must be different for u. Did u apply at CIC, Brussels? And reading the CAIPS notes is not very easy either!
Back in July 2006, I have made a blunder by sending a notarized PHOTOCOPY of the Indian Police Clearance Certificate (signed by Police Commisioner of Madras), rather than sending the original.
Is that the reason why CIC emailed back /w th message "WE HAVE REQUESTED BACKGROUND INFO FROM OTHER GOVT. ORGANIZ."cos they dont trust photocopies, even if attested by a US Notary!!!!
My case is a very clear case, have been paying taxes for the past 8 years in US, maintained legal status all the time, and absolutely no arrest record anywhere! I am going to mail the Origi Indian Police Certif tomorrow.

My spouse is from India and we are both in USA with H1b visa and we have applied through Buffalo. Our case is neat and clear just that we lived in various countries.
Screening are done in 3 steps: background (checking the authenticity of documents you sent with your application) , security (checking if you are not a terrorist) and criminality (related to your PCCs). Usually the second one takes the longest as it is done by CSIS independently from CIC.
If you are in USA I don't understand why you had to send a photocopy of your Indian PCCs. My spouse got it from the General Consulate of India, it cost $20 and it takes 4 weeks. It is quick and neat. They need ORIGINAL and not photocopy and in India it is always a pain in the neck to get things. I don't know why you had to do this in India while you can do it through Indian embassies/consulates in USA.
I don't think your delay is about the photocopy of your Pccs because if they are not happy with it they usually ask you to send an original right away however this could be a reason ... once again why didn't you do it in USA ??
|
hello cvv31,
No-one was there to help me when I applied for Canadian PR. So, I went byt the book, and got the police certificate, signed by police commisioner of chennai, when I had been to India and I sent CIC a notarized copy back in Aug 06. and it did not strike my blunt mind that I had to send in the originial Indian PCC.
I am also on H1-B in the US. And hopefully after I send in the original indian PCC, I'll get request for PPR....if not I am just one of that 10% unlucky folks that gets picked up for intensive screening. The reaosn I am confused is...I am hindu, and from India, and have not lived in any country than India & USA.
:-(
|
hi
don't worry!
Also by the way your religion has nothing to do with the screening.
I know that there are people who are waiting more than us. Just got to know from another forum that someone has been waiting for more than 6 months.
We just have to be patient that 's all! It is hard for us too. Everyday we are hoping ... if you check this trackitt you will see other "August Meds" who are still here, assuming it is updated.
|
"as a hindu" ... such divisive rhetoric and totally irrelevant to u r pr application.
cheers,
a.
ps: i am a hindu too.

hopefully I can eat your brains on some of the things !
the PR application says, send this n that n passport and original certificates and police clearance ... and all this stuff ...
but i see people here sending just the app forms with supporting docs and fee ... and waiting for 'request' to send other stuff !

No still NO NEWS so far.
I will surely update my case on trackitt if anything comes up.
I don't think we should worry too much, it was holidays season, hopefully we will get it this month.

I filed for Canada PR for the Federal Skilled Workers category in March 07. Received approval notice and the request to send our passports in mid November of 2007 with additional photographs. We sent our passports on December 3rd via Next Day to Buffalo. I have received confirmation that the passports were received at Buffalo the next day - however, I have not received my passports back. I have tried emailing them for status update 2 weeks ago and there's no response. All of my calls to their CIC Mission # go unanswered. Anyone in the same boat?

My Medicals Received in Ottawa on Aug 13, still waiting for PPR
Still E-case Status is Not changed I contact Buffalo They say application is still In Process
we can't determine Exactly Decision Date.Yesterday I ordered for CAIPS, May be It takes Two or Three weeks.
|
I am in Vancouver. Medical done on Aug. 31, 07. RPRF paid on Oct. 12, 07. I checked online status, it is still "in process".
Actually, I am right now working with an immigration consulting firm. It looks like most of our Buffalo clients got stuck with PPR up to over 6 months. But if you are lucky, that can be done within three months. So I guess it might not be sth. unsusal. Guys, just stay patient.
|
Hi
You know better then us, Because you working for immigration firm.I am in Toronto I call to call center They are not providing any information .They are saying we don't have access for buffalo CIC, how we know the status. My medical received at Ottawa on Aug 13, Still Ecase status is IN Process ,Iam not at paid Landing Fee ,If I pay after receiving PPR is ok,Plz give me good advise.
|
As most people said, Buffalo is really inconsisitent in processing compared with other visa offices. So sometimes they also request your landing fee together with passport, but of course, this is not a common case. If they answer you that they are still processing, which I guess is better than they said "We have requested your background info from other government offices. " In my understaning, the latter looks more like a thorough background check. Basically we can do nothing except order CAIPS .....
|
I did my medicals Aug 22 2007.It was received by Buffalo I guess in September and I am counting my waiting time after medicals from October.Wow it has been 4 months because today is 31 Jan 2008.
I emailed Buffalo in Dec 2007 to check what was going on and they acknowledged they had received medicals and that its still in process but they cant give me a date it will be finalized.
I just need to be patient but I am running out of it.lol
Good luck to all those waiting for PPR. It will be in the mail soon.February should be ours to jubilate.

|
Anyone else stuck in "CIC Background Verification Check" ?
|
Hi aircanada (1), Congratulation, on step closer to PPR.
|
Hello cnstudd, Mine is in Background check for about 5 months
|
i got Passport request on Oct 27 and I mailed it the next day
I didnt hear anything till end of November and sent a mail to enquire.
they sent my passport back 1st december without the visa stating that background results are pending.
now its mid feb and i havent heard anything !
any advice ??
|
Have you checked online status? Is it "decision made" or "medical results received" or "in process". I guess there must be something unexpected happened. Well, you may order CAIPS if you like. But it takes at least one month to get.
I guess most of people in this forum got stuck with PPT request. I have been waiting for over five months after my medical was done. I haven't heard any news from them so far. I ordered my CAIPS over one month ago, nothing has arrived yet. :(
|
online status says
IN PROCESS and Medical results received.
my medical tests expire june 1st this year and I dont know what happens if I dont get my visa by then ?
|
Then they will ask you for medical again ( sometimes they will extend for 1-2 months without medical exams)
|
Hi usfazli .... i am in exact same stituation as yours. Same timeline infact every is same. According CAIPS my file were supposed to come up to officier on Jan 15th 2008 ..... but it is almost one month no reply from them. I emailed them on jan 18th and got the same bull shit reply ( backgroud check) from them .
My email is alirazvi@gmail.com .... please email me to discuss ...

I got my CAIPS today. It shows "No apparent concern". I don't quite get the words: " BF FILE TO: Row on 28-01-2008". Does that mean my file is on the row for final processing or anything? I sent them enquiry by email two days ago, but no response at all. I guess I will send the fax next week.
|
I got these words in my CAIPS, too. Does your CAIPS show " Visa notified on XXX" in your medical assessment as well? I am confused. It looks like the PPT request, but I got nothing from them.
|
Hi sarabjeet
I am in the same situation as you are/were in.I have received a letter from canadian consulate to Send in my passport for visa stamping and they have asked me to submit FBI certificate, police certificate from state and schedule 1 along with the fee..
I was wondering how long it took for you to get the FBI clearance and did you wait for it to send all of them together
Thanks
|
Hi everybody
In my CAIPS note it says: No apparent concerns !!! Do you know what does it mean ? If anybody has this in their Caips?

|
