I'm a little confused on how to obtain police certificate from US. Yes i know the instructions are in the guideline for the center.
Went to my local police station today and took with me the letter in the guideline (PC-1), police staff there took my fingerprints and gave me the card. Upon asking when i should expect my report i was told i am to send that myself and should have the address and instructions in the documentation i must've been provided. My understanding is that my local police station is suppose to provide me with that, is this not correct? If i have to send my fingerprints somewhere myself to get a police certificate, could someone here guide me where?

your local police station will just take the finger prints for you. YOu have to send that card to FBI as given in the buffolo package and FBI will then send their response back in a few weeks.
So send the finger print card that you got from the police station to the FBI

I have 2 fingerprint cards, 1 for myself and other for my wife, do i need to send them 1 PC-1 form/letter for both of us or 2 forms/letters for the 2 cards i have?

Hey, how did you do with your FBI check? I just stuck in here and not sure what should i do. Did you sent the fingerprint card to FBI? did you put a stamped envelope with it? did they respond? Thanks for your reply

dear readers can any body tell me ..if we have to submit police (no
previous conviction cert) and fbi finger printing together at same time
at time of submitting our application for pr to canada.
presently i am in usa, and my applications are almost complet, but just
waiting for fbi finger print.

You can submit the application and include a letter indicating that FBI certificate will be following soon :)

I am a little confused.
As per the instructions
1-It says to request blank fingerprint cards fro the FBI. Are they different from the ones we get from the police station???? or the ones we get from the police station are fine????????
2-If the Cards from the police station is ok, Do I send them with the rest of the docs. to CIC or send them to the FBI and ask them to mail it to CIC.
3-Do send the $18 check to FBI or to CIC with the package?

The process is as follows:
1. You need to get the fingerprinting cards. You can receive those from local police station or by writing to FBI
2. You need to get the fingerprints inked on those cards. You can get those done from local police station or a private agency working for the purpose. You also need to mention this time that these are for canada immigration.
3. Once done, you need to send these to FBI with fees (18$ or whatever mentioned).
4. Now FBI will return you back the fingerprint cards with stamped that there is 'No Criminal record'.
5. Submit this stamped card to CIC.
Donot send any fingerprinting fees to CIC. This will just delay your app :)
