Topic: Traveling while PR application is pending
Posted by bigbigsnow (4) 17 Apr 2008
I am not familiar with Canada immigration laws. If I am working in Canada with a work permit, and I submit the PR application to CIC, am I allowed to re-enter Canada (from another country other than US) while the case is pending ? Thank you.

Sure you can. After you got your permit, CIC will issue multiple entry visa while your work permit is valid. You can travel any where and enter back to Canada.

As long you hold a valid visa for Canada, you are good to go.

Sure, if you have a valid work permit, you can apply for entry visa. Then you can re-enter from any other country

Are you saying that visitor visa cannot help here? As per my understanding you just need a valid visa (whether a work permit related or visitor for tourism)

I am not so sure about visitor visa. I was on similar situation. I was working and need to go back home. You can also call 1800 number on CIC web site they are very helpful too.
I was told that if I have go out of country other tha US I should apply for Entry Visa. It is similar to visitor but under category they wrote W 1. It is valid until my work permit expire.

For visitor, it is V1 and definitely it should be valid :)
