Topic: Any News on the H1B applications filed on Apr 01 2008
Hi we are on the same boat, I tried to get in touch with my lawyer earlier and they told me, its really hard to predict if it was selected or not, but they said, they had also stopped receiving receipt notices, but they havent gotten the petiton back either,
They also told me that it could also probably on the waitlisted. So we should wait until we receive the official result from USCIS. Hopefully, it will be soon

yes.no one is receiving any more receipts.i did not get mine as well.got unlucky for two years in this h1b lottery.the rejections come last.so who ever has not heard so far will get the rejection news soon.prepare urself & move on to next plan.

Please tell weather anyone are getting their receipts for advanced degree quota even now? I didn't receive my receipt till now. Is there any hope...or Did anyone got their petition back under advanced degree quota?

I found that we have to wait for receipt upto 2nd June 2008. If we are selected in lottery system then we will get the receipt till 2nd June else they we return back the amount.

Just got my case approved (new H1B) under the masters quota. That was fast!

One of my friends' H1B was approved (master's cap) on 05/06
3 of my friends got their H1 receipts (ND: 4/22, 4/24, 5/1) - Regular processing - Case Pending!

I am very much worried about my H1B. My employer has filed my H1B on 1st April under Masters quota and I still haven't heard anything yet. He says that this time waiting list is also there so you might get it but now, it is very less chance to get through.
Anybody is having the same problem?

I have applied for H1B (Regular) and i got the receipt number last week. What is the different between premium processing and general? Is the PP will get some advantages than general proccesing? I just curious why we need to spent $1000 for the PP...

I haven't received any news from my laywer regarding my H1 status. So tense... I would like to know how many approvals have been issued by USCIS and how many left for the 2009 cap?. One more thing plesae get clear me what is waiting list.

My H1B was petitioned without premium processing and nevertheless they approved it within 15 days. Theoretically everyone who applied with premium processing should have received the approval by now. This is because the applications were selected on April 14th by the random selection process and they had 15 days from the selection to process the petitions.

Hi everbody, i had applied for premium processing and up to now my lawyer told me that she hadn't received any receipt yet. My check was already encashed last april 15 but up to now more than 15 days, no information yet on the result. Can anyone from last years lottery applicants share with us what happened to them after the lottery especially those that had the same problem as mine.

In the back of the check should be your receipt number.
Then you can check the status on line in the USCIS website.

Do any of you know of anyone who has received a letter of denial/returned cheque from the USCIS for a H1B petition that failed to pass the lottery? I have applied under general quota, regular processing. Haven't heard from the USCIS yet.

People relax!
USCIS need first to validate all the applications selected in the lottery.
If some of these applications fail because: missing/wrong information in the forms, fraud (double filing will be denied), lack of supporting documentation, wrong filing fees, returned checks, and more reasons. They will take some application from the no selected group.

I got H1B receipt today. My Received date is April 14 and Notice date is April 29
It is regular processing. Status is Pending in the USCIS site. All the best to everyone.

Is there any other way of getting to know, whether the case has been chosen in the lottery?

your application has been selected in the random lottery.
all Premium applicants should have recieved their receipts by now. if not then your application hasnt been selected.
Non premium applicants can still expect reciepts.

I have applied for regular quota Non PP...Do I still stand a chance to make through.... is the USCIShas stopped issuing recipt notices.... as one of my friend ( masters Quota..non PP) whose cheque has been encashed but he also hasn't recieved the recipet notice yet what does that mean...are there people who still waiting under regular wuota

My H1b application is current pending with USCIS. My OPT (non STEM) will expired in the middle of May. Am I elligible for automatic extension. I have email USCIS with the change of status request but I am kinda worry about my status.

My immigration lawyer said he stopped receiving approvals a few days ago, and that he hasn't received any rejections yet. Neither have any of his colleagues (this is a very larger firm). This means that you most probably didn’t make the cap this year. (neither have I) :-(

My emlpoyer filed my H1B visa for FY2009 under regular quota i.e non MS from US.
I havent still received any information that whether my case has been selected in lottery or not. Can i still hope that my case was picked up in lottery because i can see people with MS degree from US under premium processing or non premium processing are still receiving the receipts. And i think after these people , regular quota will start. Is it correct?

At this point almost all the approvals were sent, so your chances are not great
there is always a possibility that your file is delayed a bit because of some unclarity, because the USCIS centers try to balance their workload by transferring applications internally and this adds a few wait days, but I wouldn't count on it

But u know my employer mailed on 6th may , please see below what he replied:
"Since the receipt notices for winners (General Quota) will also be sent out by June 2, 2008, considering the mailing time, you will not learn whether you made it probably until the end of first week of June or the second week of June 2008! Thus unfortunately, you should keep holding your breath for another month.
I will let you know the moment I get any update. Please have patience!!"
This is what i got in mail. So God knows what is happening and what is the final result. But as u said chances are very slim, i m getting disappointed :(

They say that the recepits will be sent by June-2, but in fact they do the approvals first and the rejections last. I heard of many approvals and not even one rejection, this menas that your (am my) chances are not great. You will have to wait for a week or two after June 2nd to know "for sure". I'm in the same boat by the way...
Don't be dissapointed ;-) time to go back to graduate school, get an MA in cinema studies or something dumb like that, get another OPT and then be eligible for the Master's quota. By then they will probably change the law anyway...

I know everyone is sailing in the same boat but only through forums i got to know that people from Masters Quota (non premium) are still receiving receipts, yesterday only one person received it. I know this wait is killing everyone and i believe USCIS is sending receipts both to Masters and regular people randomly. So don't know what should people like you and me expect...other than just praying to god!!!

june 2 will not get us any luck either.... speak to ur employer and look out other ways... this is my second time i wasn't picked up in the lot though the employer filed my paper is reputed through out US... my employer was mocked than me.. we have to be gamblers to be picked up by h1 lot... moreover, treatising this topic is a stupid way of time squander...

Got Info from the employer that my name has been selected in lottery.
Still waiting Approval Receipt... consultant said LIN will be sent may be end of this month...waiting.
Some one said i can also see online with submission Number (EAS ?) i am not sure how to get this and from where?
