Hi Bharti,
I am also sailing in the same boat as u r and there may be tons of people like us who are still waiting for the rejection or approval notification. Personally i have left all hope for the approval and want to just hear the result as mostly people who have made through the lottery have already received receipts so i think now the chances are very slim or may be nil. Moreover USCIS have started sending the packets back so now people have started getting rejections. So lets c wat all is there in our fate...All the best...R u on H4?

My employer told me that USCIS is sending the results in lot of 25K each and there are still 2 lots pending. Is this true?

If the results in 25K lots, then the total Nos., of lots are only 2 (because i assume for General Category/NPP - not Masters) there are only 45 K pettitions will be selected.
My consultant mailed me that my name has been selected by Lottery. but employer has not given me any clue (i.e EAS or LIN or any receipt nos)... Employer told me they will be sending me all the docs by end of July08 (if approved).
What is the meaning of If approved? (i am first time applying/ CSC/NPP/SingleEmployer)

My husband has filed for his H1B on 1st April 2008 through a consultant company in US. He has not got a selection or rejection mail. We are evry eager to know the result.
How long is this wait?? By when the results should be out. What are the chances of selection?

My employer is not telling me any news on my h1 filed on 1st April. I have not received any receipt either. I heard we need to wait till 2nd June. At what time does the USCIS starts the rejection process?

Dnt lose hope. Yesterday evening only i got the receipt number from my employer. My details are VSC/NPP/General Quota.

congrats to you! Im one of the unlucky people who didnt hear anything yet....My employer spoke with the lawyers today, and the fact that we dont have an answer yet doesnt mean anything (in lawyers opinion). It seems that they (lawyers) applied for 9 visas this year and they only got an answer for 2....The chances should be 50/50, because are 165.000 petitions, and 85.000(65.000+20.000 for masters quota) are approved, and from what i read here other people asked their lawyers, and the situation is kinda the same, only 2-3 answers from 10-15 petitions sent. i really dont know what to say to all other people, im the same as you guys, very frustrated because i dont have an answer and because i refused 3 other jobs in UK for this one. sucks no?
Oh, and btw, the lawyers said that uscis extended the period of sending receipts or letter to appliants until June 6th (it was supposed to end on june 2nd).

My employer told me that Check got cleared yesterday, which means my application is been selected.
However have to wait for the official Receipt notice.
Still there is time till June 1st week, so people don't loose hope.

sir, what is the status of h1. Till date I did't knew anything about my receipt number. Is that means any thing negative.... Whether lottery process is still going on or stopped. please some let me know. Iam so worried because last year too I got rejected

Leela, Are u sure whether rejection process has started. I'm very much worried about my h1. last year too my application got rejected. If it happens this yr too.............. I got my Receipt Number 2 days back after i mailing, my employer replied with my receipt No (applied in CSC/NPP/SingleEmployer).
Need to wait for the Approval...

I just applied for jobs there...the thing is that my country is in the European Union, and i have the right to work legally anywhere in Europe, i dont need a visa or something like this for UK. And since the price of oil keeps on going up, and my degrees are in oil, its not that hard for me to find something in Europe...

was having brilliant future back home country , having my masters and great work experience...:(
i get so frustated that dont know wat to do.

Hello, How long it will take to come out of this tension?????? If anyone knows updated news regarding lottery/rejection, let us know. It's true as each day passes by..... There's no ray of hope. I got another doubt. Is it compulsory to have GRE score to join 4 MS on H4. I heard Toefl score is enough. Do clarify this

I believe the following timeline as per my guess !!??
-getting H1B Receipts would be on or after 2nd May 2008 till 7th Jun 2008
-getting the approvals only after 7th June till end of Jul 2008.
-documents from the employer only after approval i.e. may be during 1st week of August 2008.
If any senior member can let me know whether it is correct or wrong??

My employer said "No news is good news" , may be true in the scenario of last year
will this be same this year? Since most of the applicats got the receipt number by now,
"No news is a bad news" this year, can somebody throw some light on this !

I have received my H1 WAC number , and status is pending, nothing new in this.
But now my current company is filing my L1. Would this create a problem for H1 to be approved ? Anyways H1 is gonna take more time by the time I can go on L1 and come back. Also I wanted to ask, whether I can ask my company who got my H1 filled to wait for few months before making my tickets ready ? Do they normally wait for employess for few months, even though they got there H1 filled ? Can any boyd cancell the visa once you have got it ?
