As i said earlier, please dont pester them as they have been doing this for quite a while and they will be irritated if u show your anxiety towards them, i believe getting selected in Lottery itself is a big hurdle crossed. Just imagine these consultants or employers are the ones whom we'll have to work with for atleast for 3-6 months, so right manners is essential from the beginning of relationship, i'm sure you will understand and not loose the opportunity of getting your H1B.
Hi Leela, i have not recieved any communication about my petition and i'm not going to ask them either, may be my employer have not received it yet or they are waiting to release it. I will wait for couple of weeks.

I'm selected in the lottery and i got the Receipt number, and the status shows approval Notice sent. there might be lot of reasons why they hold your approval notice like, the market might be down, and thier exsisting clients dont have enough budgets and they might have to find a project for you etc.. who knows what is happening inside the management :)

I received the receipt number, not the approval. when i tried to open the uscis website and encoded my receipt number , it stated that it was in the processing stage yet. they will just email me when they need additional documents or will just snail mail the approval notice.

US employers shed 62,000 jobs in June
WASHINGTON: Job losses continued to afflict the world's biggest economy in June as US employers shed 62,000 non-farm jobs amid a lingering slowdown, according to a Labour Department report. The unemployment rate held steady last month at 5.5 per cent.
The volume of job losses was slightly worse than the markets had expected, as most economists had predicted that 60,000 posts were cut in June.
"Unemployment is still on a rising trend, payrolls are falling and there's no light at the end of the tunnel here, so the tax rebates may have pushed up consumer spending, but it doesn't seem to have improved the labour market yet," said Ian Morris, chief US economist at HSBC North America.
The US economy has lost jobs every month of this year so far, and June's job cuts followed a loss of a revised 62,000 positions in May. The government had originally said that 49,000 jobs had been cut in May.
Morris said the "continued rate of deterioration" in the job market could see the unemployment rate peak above six per cent in the coming months. Economists say America's economy needs to create about 100,000 jobs every month to keep up with new labour market entrants.
Analysts said the weak job reading is likely to pressure the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates on hold at 2.0 per cent despite inflation concerns.
"We expect the Federal Reserve to remain on hold on the basis of weak employment among other factors. Markets are pricing in hikes after this summer," said Stephen Gallagher, an economist at Societe Generale.
The central bank had slashed its key base rate aggressively since September in a bid to fire up economic growth, but put its rate-cutting campaign on hold last month in the face of mounting inflation fears.
US growth registered a lacklustre one per cent during the first quarter, blamed on a lingering housing market slump, a credit squeeze and rocketing oil prices which hit a record high of above 146 dollars a barrel on Thursday.
Last month's job losses were particularly heavy in the goods-producing, construction, manufacturing and service sectors. A total of 43,000 positions were lost in the construction industry which has been hit hard by the housing downturn.
Manufacturing, especially the auto sector, has been impacted by the economic slowdown and as Americans have tightened their belts. (AFP)

Fellow users, kindly note genmilf is from philipiness so there are few chances to get the receipt number at this stage.. honestly there is no hope for us(indians) to have our receipt numbers.. understand and plan accordingly..

i think the lottery is over, i really don't know what is going on with uscis how come it took so long. but i think that if your employers check was cashed by uscis even if you hadn't received receipt yet there is a good chance that you had been accepted otherwise if the check wasn't encashed then i think you have to reapply next year.

hi ! I just came across this site today..my lawyer filed my application and as ive checked my papers was received by USCIS on April 1st..i paid for premium processing fee but i've been waiting like forever for a response (approval/denial/whatsoever). Is there any way I can call USCIS directly (if so, what number?), or shall I wait for my lawyer to call me? She said my employer has been calling her too but she can only advise us to wait coz she hasnt received anything yet. She said there are instances that receipt notices might have been lost in the mail and you will just receive approval notice. She's been telling me that either I could have been chosen or I might be in the waitlist because otherwise my file should have been returned to her by now. Anyone , what do you think?

Hai 2legit2quit......... same with my case too. But mine is not premium. Even It happened same with one of my frd. i.e.. they did't receive any news but got h1. It happened in last year. Hope u too receive it. But keep in touch with ur employer. Atleast u are hearing some thing from him. But in my case no response. That's why I keep track this site. April 19 case received and pending. no other news. lawyer says that tomorrow he will be telling me some news. I will keep you all posted.

I don't understand the point of paying premium processing fee when I don't get the result the soonest/fastest way....I just hope a receipt notice was really lost in the mail. Still no update at this time...wishing those (including me) that havent received approvals the best of luck!

I am a bit confused and be glad if someone could give me some suggesstion(s).
My employer had filed for my H1B visa.
After a long wait, a week back I got a mail from my employer saying that my application has been selected through lottery. He also sent me the scanned copy of Receipt Notice.While going through the receipt notice, I found that the Receipt number was blacked out with a marker.
As I have no Receipt number, I cannot track my application.
When asked about this, my employer said that this has been done for privacy as most people change their minds once they get their H1B and might jump over to some other company(Is it true? Just having your Receipt number and no documents).
What do I conclude from this?

that is partially true, most of the H1B Aspirants will do anything to enter US and will move into different companies after 2 or 3 months if they are offered better pay packets for thier skills. the company who is applying the petition for the indvidual is the worst affected, since they loose a potential guy often leading to revenue losses and thier client projects affected. but u have to work with the petitioner for a minimum of 3 months and its required that you must have 2 or 3 pay stubs before you make that jump, but i'm not sure why your employer has to hide the receipt number, you cannot jump to a different company just like that. When you enter US, you definetly have to work for your petitioner atleast for the said 3 months. in my case i have signed an agreement for 1 year with my employer.

I got my approval documents hru mail. My employer has just informed me that the documents have been received. Good luck to every one. DIMM u said there was a single date mistake. If you have won the lottery, then I guess u will receive a RFE and you could correct that date mistake. If you have already been denied the maybe you could appeal. |Ask your lawyer for further details.

what kind of mistake was it dimm if you don't mine me asking? how is it possible for the uscis to reject outright with a single date? are you from india? Did the uscis returned all your documents? what about your payment?

something with the labor thing. they put september 30th instead of october 1 because the web site did not give the option. the returned the whole package including the fees. vermont center.

hi, my lawyer filed an H1B visa for me together with my 2 friends. unfortunately, our lawyer told us that we did not make it to the lottery. my 2 friends files were sent back by the USCIS to our lawyer as a rejected applicants, however, my file were not pick neither rejected. my lawyer told me that he did not receive my file yet,so i dont have any idea about the status of my application. my lawyer told me last May07 that my check was not en cashed but how come my papers are still on hold by USCIS? Pls give me an insight if there is still a chance for me to have a receipt number up to this date?
My employer is based in chicago,Illinois so i think that my petition was file in nebraska service center. do anyone of you guys have an idea if that service service center is finished processing all selected petitions/

Hello chicago, IL..... Even mine is same case. I did't knew whether mine is selected or not. It seems my consultant received my papers yesterday. So we can't predict. I feel there are least chances in getting receipt number when check is not encashed. So be prepared 4 some other source.

yup im from the philippines, sorry can't divulge my employer cause its just a small company then we were made to have waiver that we would not divulge the company online unless authorized by the company hope you understand.

we have the same case, i am also in a premium processing and my papers were file in Nebraska service center because my employer is from chicago but until now, my lawyer did not received any rejection or approval letter. the good thing for us is that we have a good communication from our lawyer.

I understand. Anyway, do you have frequent contacts with your employer?How did they tell the news that you were selected in the lottery. My employer has not emailed me since they passed my application to USCIS. Until now I do not know whether I was selected or not.
